This magnificent place is the cultural homeland to palawa people for over 10,000 years. Palawa people's culture and heritage is distinctively different from mainland Aboriginal cultures, both in traditional times and since European occupation. The walk provides you an unique an opportunity to walk with palawa guides in the footsteps of their traditional people, deepen your understanding of palawa culture and community history as well as immerse you in the natural and rugged beauty of wukalina and larapuna.

    Departing from Launceston, the easy to moderate grade walk begins at the Bay of Fires on the northernmost section of Mount William National Park. From its long beaches to teeming wildlife, unique history and abundant flora, Mt William National Park is a place of constant fascination. From here you'll explore iconic sights such as Boulder Point, Cobbler Rocks, Cod Bay, the pink granite lighthouse at Eddystone Point, and beautiful Anson's Bay across sand and headlands encountering some rocky trails. Throughout the tour you'll admire the rich variety of bird life, with nearly 100 species occurring in the area. This remarkable region is also famed for its spectacular native wildflowers.

    The walk is fully guided and supported. On day 1, we will give you a backpack (40lt day pack). You need to carry your personal belongings including toiletries and change of clothes, water and food for the day, including lunch and snacks. Approximately 7-10kgs in a backpack.

During your flight you will witness the grandeur of this lost world and see some of the icons of Tasmania’s world renowned wilderness such as Federation Peak, The Western Arthur Range, Precipitous Bluff and Tasmania’s rugged South Coast.

    A private wilderness camp is your base. Upon arrival at Melaleuca, you'll board a vessel to access the camp, where you'll be accommodated for two nights. The wilderness camp is located in one of the world's last remaining temperate rainforests, on the shores of Bathurst Harbour. This camp has no walking track access and is completely exclusive to the walkers on the tour. You'll stay in comfortable accommodation with hot showers and enjoy quality Tasmanian food and wine.

    Private boat to explore the magnificent waterways of the Port Davey Marine Reserve. With its 800 metre mountains rising from the sea, the Port Davey Marine Reserve is three times the size of Sydney Harbour. With the private boat access, you'll have unique opportunity to walk in this world heritage listed area without the usual hardship that is associated with visiting such a remote wilderness area.     This four day walking experience takes you to the edge of the world - The Three Capes Track Lodge to Lodge Walk is a fully guided walk along Tasmania's dramatic Tasman Peninsula with the wild Southern Ocean as your constant. Start your memorable journey with a boat voyage and some of the highest dolerite cliffs in the Southern Hemisphere will come into view. You'll then cover 46 kilometres of natural landscape with exhilarating cliff top outlooks on Cape Pillar, Cape Hauy and stunning views to Cape Raoul. Settle in each evening in the architecturally designed private lodges discreetly placed along the trail and enjoy Tasmania food and wine.

    This moderate graded walk traverses varied terrain through natural landscapes including ancient cliffs, fragrant forest, colourful heathlands, white sanded beach, and bronzed moorlands. Cruising from Port Arthur to set off your journey, you'll have opportunities to spot whales, dolphins or fur seals while enjoying the fresh salty air. Walk side by side up mosaic stone steps taking in exhilarating clifftop outlooks on Cape Pillar, and Cape Hauy. Revel in the fragrant eucalypt forests and stop at crystal clear waters of Crescent Bay for a dip. Throughout the hike, you will experience some challenging uphill and downhill sections and traverse some rocky terrain, including climbing Arthurs Peak (300m) and Mount Fortescue (490m) and the challenge of scaling The Blade at Cape Pillar.

    You will have exclusive use of the only private Lodge accommodation along the track. The two lodges are architecturally designed to sit lightly within the environment with stunning views. The Lodges do not forego creature comforts such as hot showers, with plenty of lounge areas and a dedicated relaxation area at Munro Lodge. There is also a Relaxation Pavilion at Cape Pillar Lodge offering Li'Tya treatments, for a little rejuvenation & healing!

    All meals are included for the duration of the walk as well as transfers to and from Hobart. Small groups of 14 walkers are hosted by two staff. All staff are highly experienced and knowledgeable. You need to carry a multiday pack for the walk.

    Bruny Island, located just 40km from Hobart off the south-eastern coast of Tasmania, is the state's fourth largest island. The island is separated from the Tasmanian mainland by the D'Entrecasteaux Channel, and its east coast lies within the Tasman Sea. Known for the incredible quality of its produce and fresh seafood, Bruny Island is also renowned for some of Tasmania's most beautifully preserved natural environments with abundant wildlife and stunning cliff top views. The island is about 50 km long but appears to be two islands with North and South Bruny joined by a narrow strip of land called Bruny Island Neck. Bruny Island Neck is an isthmus of land connecting north and south Bruny Island in southern Tasmania and offers stunning 360 degree views and is an important habitat for native wildlife.

    Accommodation each night is included at a secluded luxury camp, on a private 100 acres on the edge of the South Bruny National Park, this little haven represents the perfect place to retreat. Surrounded by towering Eucalypts and blackwood trees, the private reserve supports an abundance of endemic Tasmanian birdlife and marsupials. Here you will enjoy freshly prepared meals made from the exceptional local produce. You return to the same camp at night, so you only need to carry a daypack during your day walk.

    A small group of guests (maximum eight) are treated to coastal walks, produce direct from the source, luxury camping and exquisite meals.

    Combining rare wildlife, convict heritage, and elegant accommodation, you'll truly enjoy the multi-award winning Maria Island walk by day and candlelit gourmet dining at night.

    Just a few kilometres off Tasmania's east coast, Maria Island is 100% national park with a population of just two park rangers and their one car. This World Heritage Listed island is a sanctuary, and a Noah's Ark for rare Tasmanian birds and animals including an introduced population of disease-free Tasmanian devils.

    The Maria Island Walk is an adventure led by warm, friendly and knowledgeable local guides. The food is fresh and local, the wine is Tasmania's best, and a comfortable bed each night awaits. The walk itself is easy to moderate with options to add challenge as desired.

    Guests stay overnight in two delightful wilderness campsites, both a stone's throw away from pristine, white-sand beaches. These beaches are the perfect place to unwind with a glass of wine, enjoy a barefoot stroll exploring for rare shells, or a swim in the turquoise waters that grace the island's shores.

    On the final night, guests of the Maria Island Walk stay in a heritage house in Darlington, a UNESCO World Heritage site nestled on the northern tip of the island. Once a busting penal settlement with over 600 convicts, Darlington is now home to a medley of well-preserved historical buildings. It's also an excellent place to see wombats!

    The walks operates between the months of October to April. If you wish to walk between the months of June to August, we offer a 3 day Maria Island Winter Escape.

    NOTE: The walk is suitable for walkers who can walk 10 - 15 km a day carrying light daypacks of 6-8kg. Participants over 70 require a medical certificate. There are limited portered departures (PACK-FREE, guests only carry a daypack). Please contact us if you are interested in PACK-FREE departures only.
