This five-day-four-night Bruny Island Gourmet Hike & Cycle tour offers you an active exploration of Bruny Island and Huon Valley by bike and foot, venturing off-the-beaten-paths to visit some of Tasmania's most wild and rugged landscapes as well as a burgeoning gourmet food and wine scene that must be tasted to be believed.
Located in the far south of Tasmania, Bruny Island is a magical place where the mountains and forests meet the Great Southern Ocean. This five-day adventure of Bruny Island and the south will provide unique opportunity for you to learn more about the fertile island and rich natural diversity of this remote region. Wheel you to some of the region's most delicious food experiences, including a 'drive through' oyster bar, whiskey tasting, a boutique chocolate factory, sheep's milk cheese sampling as well as visits to wine and cider producers. Burning off the calories will be a piece of cake as you explore Bruny Island's best vantage points by bike and foot for spectacular views back over the island and southern Tasmania.
You'll also board a wildlife cruise to spot dolphins, seals and a plethora of seabirds. Back on the mainland the southern Tasmania highlights continue with visits to the Tahune Airwalk and Hastings Cave, the largest dolomite cave in the southern hemisphere. As you head even further south you'll stop for a walk in the Hartz Mountains National Park before heading for the most southern point in Australia, Cockle Creek, from where you can set out to South Cape Bay - the final section of the famous South Coast Track.
The tour is fully vehicle supported so you can cycle and walk as much as you like. You only need to carry a day pack.
Accommodation is included each night. All meals are included for the duration of the walk and cycle tour as well as transfers to and from Hobart. Small groups of 12 walkers are hosted by two guides. All guides are highly experienced and knowledgeable.

This 3-day walking experience takes you from Hobart, via private boat to Bruny Island. Bruny Island Gourmet Walk takes you through varied terrain including beaches, rocky headlands, bush trails and rainforest.
Bruny Island, located just 40km from Hobart off the south-eastern coast of Tasmania, is the state's fourth largest island. The island is separated from the Tasmanian mainland by the D'Entrecasteaux Channel, and its east coast lies within the Tasman Sea. Known for the incredible quality of its produce and fresh seafood, Bruny Island is also renowned for some of Tasmania's most beautifully preserved natural environments with abundant wildlife and stunning cliff top views. The island is about 50 km long but appears to be two islands with North and South Bruny joined by a narrow strip of land called Bruny Island Neck. Bruny Island Neck is an isthmus of land connecting north and south Bruny Island in southern Tasmania and offers stunning 360 degree views and is an important habitat for native wildlife.
Accommodation each night is included at a secluded luxury camp, on a private 100 acres on the edge of the South Bruny National Park, this little haven represents the perfect place to retreat. Surrounded by towering Eucalypts and blackwood trees, the private reserve supports an abundance of endemic Tasmanian birdlife and marsupials. Here you will enjoy freshly prepared meals made from the exceptional local produce. You return to the same camp at night, so you only need to carry a daypack during your day walk.
A small group of guests (maximum eight) are treated to coastal walks, produce direct from the source, luxury camping and exquisite meals.
