Your adventure begins in the charming seaside town of Palau, with a ride to Porto Pollo and a visit to the iconic Bear Rock. Ferry to the La Maddalena archipelago to explore its pristine islands, including Caprera, home of revolutionary Giuseppe Garibaldi. Continue through rolling hills to Porto Cervo on the Costa Smeralda, before riding along Sardinia’s scenic coastal roads back to Palau. The journey then shifts north to Castelsardo, one of Italy’s most beautiful villages. In Alghero, cycle the west coast to Bosa Marina, with its brightly colored homes and medieval castle. Upon your arrival at Olbia Costa Smeralda Airport, a private transfer will escort you to our charming hotel in Palau, a picturesque seaside town in north-eastern Sardinia. After you've had a moment to settle in, we will ensure your bike is perfectly fitted to your comfort. Our journey then begins with a gentle ride to the nearby bay of Porto Pollo, a renowned spot for windsurfers, where we can stretch our legs and take in the coastal scenery.
As we cycle, we'll pass by the famous Roccia dell’Orso, or Bear Rock. This colossal granite hill, noted by the Greek scholar Ptolemy over 2,000 years ago, has been naturally eroded into the distinct shape of a bear and has served as a navigational landmark for sailors for millennia. This remarkable formation is also tied to local legends, including tales of man-eating giants from Homer's Odyssey. Following our introductory ride, we will gather for a delightful welcome dinner in the heart of Palau, sampling the exquisite local cuisine.

Today, we'll embark on a journey by ferry to the breathtaking La Maddalena archipelago, a stunning collection of 62 islands scattered across the turquoise waters. Our exploration will focus on two of its most significant islands: La Maddalena and Caprera. The latter is famously known as the final home of Giuseppe Garibaldi, the legendary revolutionary who dedicated his life to fighting for independence in both Italy and South America, spending his last three decades in this tranquil refuge.
After our island excursion, we will return to the mainland by ferry and continue our ride south towards Cannigione. Our route will take us through gentle, rolling hills, eventually leading to the glamorous marina of Porto Cervo, a renowned hotspot for luxury yachts and a symbol of the Costa Smeralda's exclusive charm.
Upon our return to Palau, we invite you to celebrate the day's achievements with a classic Garibaldi cocktail—a refreshing blend of three parts orange juice and one part Campari, garnished with an orange wedge. It’s the perfect way to toast to our adventure.

After a short transfer to Rena Majore, we hop on our bikes and start our journey along the northern edge of the island. The route takes us through wild green vegetation and onto a scenic coastal road, offering views of granite rock pools and inlets shaped by the turquoise waters.
Our main stop is Castelsardo, one of Italy’s officially recognized “most beautiful villages.” This charming place features pastel-colored homes perched along the hillside, overlooking the Gulf of Asinara. At the top, you’ll find a well-preserved 12th-century castle offering incredible views and a glimpse into the town’s rich history. Along the way, we’ll also pass by small fishing villages and quiet beaches that showcase the rugged beauty of the region.

Our ride today begins in Alghero's magical historic centre before guiding us out along the island’s spectacular west coast. We journey toward another of Sardinia's iconic villages: Bosa Marina. Perched on a hillside, this enchanting destination charms visitors with its brightly coloured houses lining the river Temo and the imposing Malaspina Castle watching from above.
As the day's exploration concludes, we will arrange a comfortable transfer back to your hotel. This evening, we will gather for a final farewell dinner, celebrating our journey together in the enchanting city of Alghero.

Transfer Time: Please consider eating lunch before we collect you from Olbia. The transfer time from the airport to the hotel is 45 minutes. On the return journey the transfer time is 1 hour 40 minutes to Olbia Costa Smeralda Airport (OLB).
Riding in Sardinia: The general road conditions in Sardinia are very good with fantastic weather. One must consider that the roads are shared with car owners and bikers.
Cuisine:The food in Sardinia is excellent. Enjoy specialties like Porceddu (roast suckling pig), Culurgiones (stuffed pasta), and Fregula (toasted semolina pasta). Restaurants now cater for both vegan and vegetarian diets, and homemade local wines and craft beers are a must-try. Please let us know when booking if you have any special dietary requirements.
