Arkaroola 4WD Tracks

Arguably the most famous and popular 4WD destination in the Flinders Ranges, the Arkaroola Wilderness Sanctuary itself comprises over 610sq/km of the most spectacular mountain scenery within the Flinders Ranges. Around Arkaroola, there are numerous tracks and trails that highlight the area's spectacular scenery and lead to various points of interest. There are regularly diverging tracks that lead along sandy creek beds and red rocky trails into the ranges and up peaks. Experience the most rugged part of the Flinders Ranges with the Arkaroola Ridgetop tour. The signature 4WD tour navigates the steep slopes and hair-raising ascents of the famous Ridgetop Track to reveal spectacular 360-degree views across Freeling Heights, Lake Frome and the desert beyond. The region is also rich in abandoned mines, such as the Welcome Mine in the east and the Yudnamutana and Daly mines in the north, all of which are accessible by 4WD track and provide excellent on-foot exploration opportunities.
