Stranraer Homestead is located in Kangaroo Island’s MacGillivray area, about 20-minutes’ drive south of the Kingscote Airport.
Stay in one of four carefully restored guestrooms, although a maximum of three are used at one time unless the property is booked on a sole-use basis. Three rooms have Queen beds (one of these has an additional Single) and a fourth room has two Single beds in a twin configuration. Each room has a dedicated bathroom and charming period furniture that will transport you back in time.
Dine in comfort beside the warmth of an open fire and enjoy meals with other guests. Meals are prepared by your host Lyn and served in the formal dining room. Breakfast is a selection of fresh-baked pastries, preserved fruits, cereals and a range of hot dishes, while dinner offers two options for entrée, main and dessert. A fresh daily menu showcases the best of Kangaroo Island produce wherever possible.
You need only look out your window to see Kangaroo Island’s natural wonders. Stranraer Homestead sprawls across 3,000 acres and has two large, bird-filled lagoons that attract animals such as kangaroos, wallabies and emu. Stranraer’s central location makes it convenient for exploring local highlights including the iconic Flinders Chase National Park.
