Arrive into Kingscote Airport (KGC) or the Sealink Ferry Terminal, Penneshaw, to begin your Kangaroo Island adventure. Your expert guide will meet you and help load your luggage into the custom 4WD vehicle.
First stop is Stokes Bay, a hidden paradise waiting to be uncovered on the Island’s North Coast. Weave through a labyrinth of caves before emerging onto some of the whitest sand and clearest water in Australia.
Once you’ve worked up an appetite, head inland for a private bush camp barbeque in the Cygnet River valley. Take a walk to explore the surroundings, seeking out koalas, bush birds and colourful cockatoos.
After lunch, head out onto the water for the experience of a lifetime: a swim with wild dolphins. Over three hours, cruise along the magnificent north coast and get up close to some of nature’s most beautiful creatures in shallow and protected waters – you may see upwards of 25 – 80 dolphins at any one time! Along the way, you’ll pass through a 540-million-year-old fossil bed and see other wildlife including seals, sea eagles and osprey.
In the evening, enjoy a delicious included dinner at your accommodation,
Start your day with an invigorating hike along one of Kangaroo Island’s most picturesque trails: Curley Creek in Cape Gantheaume Conservation Park. This old fire access track skirts the edge of the Murray Lagoon, an important home for more than 100 species of bird. In springtime, look out for nesting waterbirds amid the thickets of paperback that surround the lagoon. If you’re lucky, you might even spy a red warbler or the Australian spotted crake.
After a gourmet picnic lunch, head south for a private tour with your guide through the Seal Bay Conservation Park. There are no enclosures or cages at Seal Bay. Instead, you will be taken into the heart of the colony where young pups nurse and play in the surf, while old bulls patrol the rugged coastline. Your tour won’t follow a standardised script – your guide will be interpreting sea lion behaviour and what’s happening in the colony at that very moment. A truly exceptional wildlife experience!
Start your day visit to the Kangaroo Island Land For Wildlife. A private wildlife refuge, the LfW KI aims to provide safe havens for animals and plants, while improving their habitat. Check out wildlife surveys targeting tiny endangered mammals and get an introduction to the bush, so the fire ecology experienced later in the day has context.
After a gourmet picnic lunch, travel to Flinders Chase National Park, an area that was heavily affected by the 2019-2020 bushfires. You’ll visit the Park’s must-see sights – the Remarkable Rocks, Admirals Arch and the Cape Du Couedic Lighthouse – while learning about what is being done to regenerate and protect the area for the future. You’ll also see another colony of seals, who swim effortlessly through the crashing waves.
At the end of the day, you’ll be transferred to Kingscote Airport or the Sealink Ferry Terminal, Penneshaw, to commence your onward journey.

Kangaroo Island has a Mediterranean climate: warm to hot dry summers (December – February) with very low humidity; and cool, mild winters (June – August). The majority of rainfall occurs from April – September, while strong winds are a possibility throughout the year.

The tour operator is at the mercy of nature in all her beauty and all her fury. The tour operator will under no circumstance knowingly place at risk the health and well-being of our guests and guides. In the case of natural threats, acts of God and the like (e.g. bushfires, impassable snow, etc) the tour operator may need to cancel a walk with very little notice. In some cases, this can occur after the walk has commenced. The tour operator reserves the right to cancel any walk up to 60 days prior to departure if a minimum of 4 walkers are unable to meet for a tour. If the tour operator needs to cancel for any reason, the cost of the walk or any other costs associated with travel to the designated pick up point, overnight accommodation, meals, etc will not be covered by the Onlyluxe Travel and therefore we strongly recommend travel insurance be taken out prior to travel.Force Majeure'Force Majeure' means (without restriction) any event which Onlyluxe Travel or its third party providers could not, even with due care, foresee or avoid. Force Majeure covers events such as, but not limited to, adverse weather conditions, fire and all similar events beyond our control. In the case of Force Majeure Onlyluxe Travel will not accept liability, and reserves the right to change and cancel trips.EvacuationsIn rare circumstances, due to injury or unforeseen illness, the tour operator may need to evacuate you from a remote part of the walk. Helicopter evacuations are expensive and in most cases will be at a cost to the customer.For Australian residents, under the Australian Government Medicare Act, it is prohibited for any domestic travel insurance product to provide any financial reimbursement with regard to ambulance or air ambulance services. We therefore strongly advise our customers to take specific ambulance cover through their health insurance provider. Evacuation cost will not be covered by the Onlyluxe Travel and therefore it is also strongly recommended that our customers take out travel insurance to cover (amongst other things) the costs associated with evacuation.Travel InsuranceIn view of the heavy cancellation penalties applied to cancelled reservations in certain circumstances, we strongly recommends suitable travel insurance be purchased at the time the holding deposit is paid. We recommend insurance cover that covers any loss which may be suffered due to cancellation. We also strongly recommend comprehensive travel insurance against loss of baggage and medical expenses.
