After another delicious breakfast, embark on the once-in-lifetime experience of swimming with the gentle giants of the Indian Ocean: whale sharks or humpback whales.
From March to July, your whale shark experience begins with a transfer to Tantabiddi Boat Ramp (about 25-minutes’ drive) where you will meet your experienced skipper and crew for the day. Motor out into the deep to begin the search, aided by a spotter aircraft that relays sightings to the skipper. Once the whale sharks have been found, the crew will help you get kitted up to swim with the world’s largest fish – a truly transformative experience!
From August to October, your experience begins in much the same way, but instead of whale sharks, all eyes are on the world’s largest mammal: the humpback whale. As you swim with these majestic creatures, listen for the males’ incredible songs and look on in wonder as they breach, lunge, slap the water and blow.
During both experiences, the spotter plane will be on the lookout for manta rays, turtles, dolphins, dugongs and sea birds. Depending on the day, you may return to the calm waters of Ningaloo Reef for lunch and snorkelling. Return to camp will be in mid-afternoon.
After one final breakfast, say farewell to Ningaloo Reef and board your pre-arranged transfer back to Learmonth Airport (LEA) to commence your onward journey.
