Walking Information: Vidawa Rainforest Walk: 7km/4.35mi | 4hrs | Moderate
Set out on a full-day, guided trek through Bouma National Heritage Park, which accounts for approximately 80% of Taveuni Island. The park includes the three Tavoro Waterfalls, each with natural swimming pools.
Beginning in Vidawa Village, venture deep into the Vidawa Rainforest, one of Fiji’s most beautiful rainforests. Visit a historic, fortified village site, take in stunning views over the coast and outer islands, and learn about the traditional uses of native animals and plants. This hike is a dream for birdwatchers, with the opportunity to spot many rare and colourful species including Lady Monarchs, Blue-Crowned Broad Bills, Silktails, and the legendary Orange Dove, of which no known photographs exist. Your journey culminates with a leisurely swim at the waterfalls.
After the trek, let one of Raiwasa’s highly skilled masseuses soothe away your aching limbs. Massages and treatments include Island Relaxation Massage, Hot Stone Massage, Tropical Sugar Scrub and Dilo (banana leaf) wrap.
Walking Information: Lavena Coastal Walk: 5km/3.1mi one-way | 90-min one way | Easy
Bring in the new day at the International Date Line. Taveuni is one of the few land masses in the world that is crossed by the date line, so it is safe to say that each new day starts here. You can watch the sunrise at an elevated viewpoint at Waiyevo. Photo opportunity!
Then, once the sun has properly risen, embark on the half-day Lavena Coastal Walk. Taking about 90-minutes each way, the trail follows the forest edge along stunning white-sand Lavena beach, then a volcanic black sand beach, past peaceful villages, before climbing up through a landscape straight out of Jurassic Park to a cascading waterfall. You can kayak most of the way and walk back.
In the afternoon, enjoy another relaxing massage or spa treatment as well as free time.
Spend your last morning doing as much or as little as you like. You could head out for a spot of snorkelling or an easy bike ride, or you could sleep in ahead of a leisurely breakfast.
When you’re ready, check out and enjoy a complimentary transfer to Matei Airport to commence your onward journey.

Helicopter evacuations are expensive and in most cases will be at a cost to the customer. For Australian residents, under the Australian Government Medicare Act, it is prohibited for any domestic travel insurance product to provide any financial reimbursement with regard to ambulance or air ambulance services. We therefore strongly advise our customers to take specific ambulance cover through their health insurance provider. Evacuation cost will not be covered by the Onlyluxe Travel and therefore it is also strongly recommended that our customers take out travel insurance to cover (amongst other things) the costs associated with evacuation.Travel InsuranceIn view of the heavy cancellation penalties applied to cancelled reservations in certain circumstances, we strongly recommends suitable travel insurance be purchased at the time the holding deposit is paid. We recommend insurance cover that covers any loss which may be suffered due to cancellation. We also strongly recommend comprehensive travel insurance against loss of baggage and medical expenses.
