Your retreat kicks off with a guided walk through Città Alta, the historic upper city of Bergamo. This UNESCO World Heritage Site is known for its medieval walls, charming cobblestone streets, and breathtaking views of the surrounding valleys. Along the way, we’ll show you some of the city’s hidden gems, like tucked-away piazzas, local artisan shops, and lesser-known landmarks that highlight the rich history of the area.

This beginner-friendly path follows the historic railway line built in 1906, which once connected Bergamo to San Pellegrino Terme. Along the way, you’ll pass through old railway tunnels and ride alongside lush Alpine scenery, offering a unique mix of natural beauty and local history.
Your first stop is San Pellegrino Terme, a town famous for its mineral water and rich history as a wellness destination. Here, you can enjoy a classic Italian aperitivo-style lunch at one of the local cafes or restaurants, soaking up the relaxed atmosphere of the town centre.
After lunch, visit the renowned San Pellegrino Terme Spa. The spa combines modern wellness facilities with stunning Art Nouveau architecture, making it a must-see destination. Today’s route guides you along a serene cycle path that traces the River Serio, leading you northward to the historic town of Clusone. Here, you'll have the chance to explore its well-preserved medieval centre, discovering architectural gems and hidden courtyards that speak of a rich past.
From Clusone, your ride continues towards the picturesque lakeside village of Lovere, officially recognized as one of Italy's most beautiful towns ("I Borghi più belli d'Italia"). Its enchanting medieval streets and scenic waterfront provide the perfect backdrop for a refreshing gelato and a moment to capture the stunning views. A short ride from there will bring you to your hotel, where you can unwind by the pool while enjoying panoramic vistas over Lake Iseo.
As evening approaches, indulge in a tour and tasting at a local winery, savouring exquisite regional wines as the sun sets over the lake. For dinner, you have the freedom to choose from our curated recommendations of excellent nearby restaurants.

As evening descends, we will embark on a scenic boat ride to Monte Isola, the captivating island jewel of Lake Iseo. Here, a memorable farewell dinner awaits at a waterfront restaurant, where you can savour local cuisine while overlooking the tranquil waters.

One of the highlights of the trip is this enjoyable and scenic loop around Lake Iseo in Italy. It’s a relaxed cycling route that combines beautiful lake views, charming small towns, and plenty of opportunities to explore. The ride begins in the lively town of Iseo, known for its bustling piazza and lakefront promenade. From there, we’ll pass through Sarnico, a town famous for its elegant Art Déco villas, and continue on to Riva di Solto, a picturesque lakeside village with stunning views and quaint streets.
Along the way, we’ll stop at the Bay of Bogn di Zorzino, a hidden gem with breathtaking cliffs and crystal-clear waters that’s perfect for photos or simply enjoying the peaceful surroundings. After cycling, we’ll change things up with a paddleboarding session on Lake Iseo, offering a chance to take in the scenery from the water.
The final stretch of the ride takes us along a scenic road that hugs the lake’s edge, with dramatic cliffs towering above. It’s a memorable end to the day, leading back to our hotel where we’ll share a farewell dinner. It’s the perfect opportunity to reflect on the week, share stories, and celebrate an incredible cycling and wellness holiday.

- The finish point is Bergamo. Following the conclusion of the tour we will assist you with planning and booking of onward travel. We will run a transfer to Brescia Train Station leaving the hotel at 10.30 am.
- Major commercial flights provide convenient access to Bergamo. The closest airport to Bergamo is Orio al Serio International Airport (BGY), also known as Milan Bergamo Airport. It is located just about 5 kilometres (3 miles) southeast of Bergamo's city centre, making it very convenient for travellers. We recommend looking into flights in Milan Airports (MXP, LIN, BGY).

Drop off Location Following the conclusion of the tour we will assist you with planning and booking of onward travel. We will run a transfer to Brescia Train Station leaving the hotel at 10.30 am.
Transfer Time: Please consider having a good breakfast or early lunch before we collect you from Bergamo train station. Transfer to Hotel Piajo on Day 1 takes about 25 minutes, and to Brescia Train Station on Day 6 around 50 minutes.
Riding in Lombardia: The general road conditions in Lombardia are good. During rides we may go through tunnels; they are well lit but for safety we will provide you with lights. Much of the riding will be enjoyed on cycle paths.
Cuisine: The food is excellent in Lombardia. Restaurants now cater for both vegan and vegetarian diets. Homemade local wines and beers are a must-try. Lake Iseo is rightly famous for its lake fish (in particular sardines) and Bergamo for polenta and casoncelli pasta.
