If you’ve seen Francis Ford Coppola’s The Godfather, you’ll recognize some of the scenery from today’s 50 km hilly ride in Sicily. While the fictional village of Corleone is well-known, the actual filming locations are spread across several places you’ll visit, including Forza d’Agrò and the picturesque village of Savoca.
Savoca, listed as one of the most beautiful villages in Italy, is more than just one town—it’s a collection of about 100 tiny hamlets nestled on a rocky hillside. One of its most famous spots is the 18th-century Palazzo Trimarchi, where the iconic bar scene was filmed. This is where Michael Corleone first spoke to Mr. Vitelli, the father of his future bride, Apollonia.
Forza d’Agrò is another highlight of the day. This historic town is full of charm, with narrow streets, beautiful views, and ancient buildings that carry the essence of Sicilian culture. Between these destinations, you’ll get a true sense of the island’s character. A visit here isn’t just about the movie history—it’s about experiencing the authentic beauty and atmosphere of Sicily.
Come evening head back to the hotel and relax with an aperitivo overlooking the coastline.
Your morning begins with a scenic ride along the Sicilian coast, with the refreshing sea breeze and endless blue horizons guiding your way. You'll then ascend toward the medieval village of Castelmola, a charming sanctuary perched high above Taormina. Here, you're invited to pause and savour a coffee while taking in the breathtaking panoramic views of the sea and Mount Etna—a truly unforgettable sight. As your Italian odyssey concludes, you will return to the hotel for check-out. A seamless transfer to Catania Airport awaits, leaving you with cherished memories of the landscapes, flavours, and adventures.
