Climb the steepest section of the Overland Track, which rewards you with inspiring vistas of Cradle Mountain and Dove Lake. Traverse button grass plains where the Cradle Mountain and Barn Bluff are stunning backdrops. Consider taking a swim in Lake Windermere. Descend to the Overland Track’s lowest point and soak in views of Mt Oakleigh on your way back up. Embark on our longest walk of the trip—the 18 km Mount Oakleigh and follow it up with another trek to Pelion Gap and then including Mount Oakleigh and Mount Ossa, the next day.
