Australia has a great deal to offer celebrities in search of alone-time, some space from the constant scrutiny of the public eye.  Seduced by the promise of exclusive luxury accommodation, remarkable food and wine, unique native wildlife and, of course, breathtaking scenery, celebrities flock to Australia’s luxury resorts. 

Queensland

Hamilton Island is a celebrity favourite with A-list guests such as Taylor Swift, One Direction and Oprah Winfrey all occupying suites at Qualia over recent years.  With easy access to the Great Barrier Reef and a wide array of marine activities available, Qualia enjoys a well-earned reputation as one of the best luxury resorts in the world.

Close by, Lizard Island has also played host to some well-known identities.  Kate Hudson, Tiger Woods, Charlize Theron and Teri Hatcher have all spent time enjoying the idyllic seclusion that only a private tropical island can offer.

Since reopening in 2014, the stunning One&Only Hayman Island has played host to the cast and crew of Modern Family as well as Angelina Jolie and Brad Pitt.

New South Wales

Sydney regularly hosts international celebrities and in recent years James Park, Lady Gaga, Elton John, Bette Midler, Michael Buble, the Rolling Stones, Nicole Kidman, and Jerry Seinfeld have all enjoyed the spectacular views of the Harbour Bridge and Opera House from the Park Hyatt on Sydney Harbour.  

A short distance from Sydney, Emirates One&Only Wolgan valley is a highly desirable wedding venue and celebrities such as Australian cricketer, Michael Clarke and TV personality Hamish Blake both celebrated their nuptials in the stunning resort.

Victoria

The Kardashian family are frequent visitors to Australia and, when they visit Melbourne, The Langham Hotel in Southbank is their preferred hotel, where they famously occupy their own floor.

Tasmania

Hobart’s Museum of Old and New Art is a regular draw card for celebrities visiting Tasmania thanks to the eclectic private collection of David Walsh, who himself mixes in A-list circles.  Recent visitors have included Nicole Kidman, Rooney Mara and Dev Patel who no doubt enjoyed the on-site facilities of The Source Restaurant, Moorilla Winery and luxurious Mona Pavilions.

Western Australia
