Svalbard archipelago, located between the mainland and the North Pole, displays Arctic wilderness at its finest. With the numerous exploration choices available to us, our expert expedition team will choose the best adventures for us to undertake daily based on the current weather, ice conditions, and wildlife opportunities.
Being one of the “wildlife hotspots” of the Arctic. We plan to explore and sightsee its unique wildlife such as the large population of majestic polar bears, iconic walruses, arctic foxes, ringed seals, and different species of seabirds that nest on the ground where they can easily be photographed.
Observe the raw beauty of its numerous glaciers, with over 2000 glaciers in this archipelago. Walk on the tundra with kaleidoscopic wildflowers and visit towering cliffs to spot birds who nest on them such as guillemots and puffins and also see the birds that nest on scree slopes like Svalbard’s largest auk colony and snow buntings.
If you have chosen optional activities like kayaking and polar plunging, you’ll have the opportunity to do so when the conditions are favorable. The chilly feeling of plunging in polar waters is one you’ll never forget.
Feast your eyes on the beautiful views of the Greenland Sea, the main outlet of the Arctic Ocean, and its unique wildlife such as the fin and blue whales, seals, and different species of appealing seabirds including the northern fulmars and Brunnich's guillemots as we sail across. This region is ripe for exploration as its beauty is kept preserved by the drift ice that keeps it in place for up to eight months each year.
The strong icy currents have isolated East Greenland from the Polar Basin, attracting large numbers of fish, whales, and seals. Our expert expedition will continue to update and entertain you with fascinating information about the region and its plants, animals, weather, and heroic tales of exploration.
If the conditions are suitable, there will be a chance to kayak through this sea of ice and we may even attempt to make our first landing on the Greenland coast.
The east coast of Greenland is all ours to explore, and it depends on the ice and weather conditions of the region on how far we can reach. Our experienced expedition team, who have been in the area countless times would be there to safely guide you on your voyage daily. All these we put into consideration as you cruise along this spectacular region.
Be ready to experience Greenland's most impressive scenery. Gigantic icebergs, Deed fjords, narrow channels, and ice-clad peaks up to 2,000m/6,562ft high, that create beautiful views. This area is home to musk oxen, reindeer, and arctic hares. There are also historical sites, huts, and modern Inuit hunters’ cabins. We plan to visit the traditional Inuit village of Ittoqqortoormiit, the most isolated and northernmost permanent settlement in this region, with a population of about 450 people.
Explore the world’s biggest fjord region and a favorite hunting ground of the local Inuit, Scoresbysund. Its massive glaciers create a spectacular view for voyages. North of Scoresbysund are Kong Oscar and Kaizer Franz Josef fjords, the two most significant fjord systems in all of Greenland. The fertile volcanic soil mountain protects the area from strong winds and the area is rich in wildlife. You will get to see creatures from musk ox, arctic foxes to mountain hares, and also reindeers near the fjord. Then in the sky, you would catch a glimpse of a variety of birds flying like the black-legged kittiwake, raven, glaucous gull, and the northern fulmar.
We will also attempt to enter a remote and rarely visited fjord system, Kaiser Franz Josef Fjord with numerous exploration choices within the Northeast Greenland National Park. Relish the delightful sights of the beautiful mountains as we cruise through Kong Oskar Fjord, With favorable ice conditions, we will then head south along the coast of Liverpool Land.
In search of ancient graveyards and summer villages occupied about 3000 years ago, we plan to hike across beautiful tundra and see beautiful animals grazing there such as musk ox, Arctic hare, and reindeers. This area provides outstanding kayaking opportunities in its maze of calm, interconnecting waterways and see its unique creatures like the majestic polar bear strutting along its turf, narwhals, and ring seals.
Feel the wonderful motions and breathe in the fresh air of the sea as we sail across the Denmark Strait. Keep an eye out for whale blows and photograph the many unique sea birds that follow in our wake. Share and reminisce on your thrilling adventures as we make our way back to Iceland.
Watch the beautiful sunrise as we sail to Reykjavik this morning. Bid adieu to your fellow voyagers, expedition team, and crew as you disembark the vessel and transfer to downtown Reyjavik or to Keflavik Airport to continue your journey onwards.

Svalbard
There are three main seasons on Svalbard: Summer, Northern Lights Winter and Sunny Winter- each one offering a very unique cache of experiences, from wildlife-watching on Arctic expedition cruises to kayaking, cycling, snow-mobile riding, dog-sled expeditions and Northern Lights viewing. The best time to go and the main tourist season in Svalbard runs from May to September, with summer temperatures ranging between 3 and 7 degree Celsius and most suited to some of the outdoor activities. It is also the very best months for wildlife watching and Polar Bear spotting on Arctic cruises being July and August.
Winter is quite brutal with average temperatures ranging between -13 and -30 degrees Celsius. The allure of catching a glimpse of the Northern Lights, experiencing 24hrs of darkness and partaking in snow-sports entices for a one-of-a-kind Svalbard experience.
Greenland
The entirety of Greenland is located in the polar climate zone with average temperatures that do not exceed 10° C (50° F) in the warmest summer months. This means that, in general, it stays chilly all year-round and gets very cold in the winter, but there are large variations from region to region. In all parts of the country the weather is locally changeable and can vary from fjord to fjord and from one valley to the next. This is because there are a number of factors that affect the climate in Greenland, such as the surrounding coastline and the inland ice sheet. Packing for the Arctic Circle is all about layers. With an arctic climate, rapid weather changes should be expected. A day can shift from clear sunshine to a snowstorm in the blink of an eye, and hence visitors need to come prepared.
