Trek Torres del Paine's classic "W", followed by a guided hike into one of the Park's quieter and more restricted valleys. This W Trek + Bader Valley adventure combines the best of both: autonomous discovery and local knowledge. Enjoy the trails without the crowds and amazing high mountain views.
The W Trek is the most famous route in the Torres del Paine National Park. Navigating up and down the mountain valleys, the W Trek brings you up close to its world-famous Patagonian views and natural, must-see attractions: Glacier Grey, Los Cuernos, Valle del Francés and Las Torres.

Hike six days on the W Trek + Bader Valley with experienced and certified mountain guides and camp along the trail. Walk the W Trek from west to east, starting at Campsite Grey and ending at Refugio Las Torres. You will have unique opportunity to explore four valleys on this W Trek extended adventure. In each of those valleys lies one of the iconic sights of the park:
Lago Grey (Grey Lake), flecked with cobalt blue ice, flows up to the face of the enormous glacier that stretches out towards the ice cap, displaying the impressive geological changes that have happened in this area. Adjacent to the Lago Grey, is the Grey Glacier. The sheer size, power, and beauty of the Grey Glacier makes it one of the most iconic sights in the Torres del Paine National Park.
Valle Francés (French Valley), the central spur of the W is dominated by a magnificent hanging glacier, Glaciar Frances. This glacier cracks and crumbles ahead of you as you climb rocky terrain into the heart of the valley.
Bader Valley is one of the forgotten valleys within the W Trek, which you can only enter with a certified guide due to the change. The small valley slices into the range between the Cuernos and the Torres giving you an extraordinary close up of the Cuernos formed 12.6 million years ago, and a different view of the south tower.
Ascencio Valley in the east takes you all the way to the base of the famous towers.
This moderate to hard graded trek is fully guided and supported. You will trek with experienced and certified mountain guides and porters. Porters can carry up to 15 kilos of your pack weight and help out with setting up the tent. You only need to carry a day pack. All camping and cooking equipment as well as meals are provided. This is truly world class and considered a trekking experience of a lifetime.

After you check in at the ranger station and entrance of the park you will continue driving for another half an hour to get to Pudeto pier. You board the catamaran that will take you for approximately 25 minutes over the Lake Pehoe, known as the most beautiful lake in the region, until you get to the Paine Grande Lodge/campsite.
From here you start to get ready for your first hike and the official start of the ‘W’ Trek. After a quick organisational break, you begin hiking towards Campsite/Refugio Grey. Coming back to camp, pack your backpacks and start your hike back to Paine Grande campsite, where you will stay for the night. From this viewpoint, you can enjoy the view of the hanging glacier coming down from the largest mountain in the park, the Paine Grande. From this spot, it is another 1.5 hour hike to get to the second viewpoint called Británico. This next part of the trail is easier and relaxing, with a boulder field at the end were you can have the amazing 360° view around you.
The Británico lookout is on a big rock formation at the end of the valley, the best spot for the perfect picture from the Valle del Francés. Return to Puerto Natales
The Patagonian Andes is very exposed to winds that circle the Antarctic landmass. In addition, the strong marine influence and the effect of the Southern Patagonia Icefield make the weather hard to predict. In spring or early summer, fine weather may deteriorate almost without warning, bringing rain and even snow. Even in summer (December to March), you should come prepared to find strong cold winds (up to 130 km/hr) and rainfall. The summer’s average temperature is 11ºC/52ºF (24ºC max, 2ºC min). However, just as quickly as the weather turns nasty, it can become lovely and sunny. So come prepared for all types of weather! The best time to travel to Puerto Natales is between the months of October and April. These months are spring and summer for the southern hemisphere, averaging 16 hours of sunlight with a lesser chance of rain.
