Commencing in Melbourne, self-drive 1 hour to the Mornington Peninsula. Surrounded by water on 3 sides with a maritime cool climate, the Peninsula is home to elegant, personality packed award-winning wines – predominantly Chardonnay and Pinot Noir.
First stop is Montalto Vineyard for a guided exploration of the 75-acre estate. This is a unique visitor experience during any season of the year: you could taste grapes around vintage, learn how Montalto grow and make use of seasonal produce or explore the estate’s extensive permanent sculpture collection and natural wetlands.
Experience Montalto’s ‘Estate to Plate’ philosophy with a guided walk with the chef through the estate kitchen gardens. A passion for seasonal, locally grown produce has seen Montalto kitchen gardens expand to almost 4 acres in recent years.
After the kitchen garden walk, embark on a guided tasting in the Alto room, with panoramic views overlooking Montalto’s Red Hill Vineyards, featuring Single Vineyard and Estate wines. Recognised as ‘Red Five Star’ Halliday rated wines, these wines truly reflect the cool climate location of the vines.
Your journey culminates with a spectacular 5-course tasting experience with matched wines.
At the end of the day, check into your accommodation for the next 2 nights: Jackalope. Situated on a private vineyard, Jackalope unifies art, design, dining and storytelling the guest experience, offering modern, well-appointed ‘lairs’ overlooking the 30-metre infinity pool and vines. Make sure to enjoy a deep soak bath for a spa-like reverie in room.

Start your day with a delicious breakfast before heading to PT. Leo Estate for an exclusive behind the scenes tour and taste.
At 11:00am, begin your Journey with a 1-hour bespoke wine tasting as you meander through the amazing 50-acre vineyard. As you walk, your experienced host will share PT. Leo Estate’s wine making philosophy and provide insight into the history of the estate. At the halfway point of the tasting, you will enjoy local cheeses and fruits by the private lake that sits in the centre of the vineyard. Then, it’s more tasting through the vineyard and back to the building.
Your experience culminates with a 3-course limited a la carte lunch in the PT. Leo Estate Restaurant. Awarded One Chef’s Hat in the 2020 Good Food Guide, this modern restaurant centres around a large wood fired oven that is truly a celebration of Victorian produce and regional craftmanship.
After lunch, venture into the PT. Leo Estate Sculpture Park, Australia’s largest privately owned sculpture park. Here, you will find over 70 local and international works. A must for any art lover!
At the end of the day, return to Jackalope to relax and unwind.

The start and finish point for this package is Melbourne, Victoria.
The Melbourne Airport (MEL) receives flights from all Australian capitals and international locations including New Zealand, Canada, Papua New Guinea, Hong Kong, China, the USA and more.
Driving to the Mornington Peninsula from Melbourne takes approximately one hour.
Every day is different on the Mornington Peninsula. The average daily maximum temperature for January and February is 25.0 degrees, while in July it is 12.8 degrees. February averages four days of rain while August has around ten for the month. Being surrounded by water on three sides means that the peninsula is cooler in summer and warmer in winter than other Victorian areas.
Planted in 1989, the 11-hectare (28-acre) Willow Creek Vineyard has taken root in deep volcanic soils, known for producing rich flavours. This cool-climate vineyard produces pinot noir, chardonnay, cabernet, pinot gris and sauvignon blanc. Under winemaker, Geraldine McFaul, Willow Creek Vineyard has grown in reputation as one of the premier producers on the Mornington Peninsula - renowned for elegant single-vineyard wines.
Montalto Vineyard is a family-owned estate producing premium cool climate wines in a beautiful estate of 75 acres. Montalto combines a working vineyard and olive grove, kitchen gardens, fruit orchard and berry plantation with a commitment to the arts and an extensive sculpture collection, home to the famous Montalto Sculpture Prize, among the most valuable private sculpture prizes in Australia.
Leo Estate is a visual feast with art, rolling vineyards and ocean views. With the site housing the largest privately-owned Sculpture Park in Australia and three distinct culinary experiences from fine dining, to bistro-style, to the relaxing Wine Terrace and Cellar Door, PT. Leo Estate is a celebration of regional produce and craftsmanship.
