Location

Located in Pureora Forest Park at the halfway mark of the two-day cycling journey along the Timber Trail, the Timber Trail Lodge is accessible by road via Waimiha. The lodge is a 2hour and 15 minute drive from the closest airport, Taupo Airport. Shuttle services are also available from Ongarue.

Purpose built for convenience and comfort, the Timber Trail Lodge has received a 5 star Silver Qualmark rating. There are two-bedroom wings joined by the inviting central area known as the hub. The Hub features floor to ceiling windows, highlighting spectacular views of the surrounding forest with plenty of places to sit and relax including in front of the large fireplace during those colder nights. Purpose Built

Enjoy the facilities of the purpose-built lodge to receive Timber Trail bikers at the end of a day on the trail and prepare them for another great day out riding. This includes bike wash down area, bike storage, bike servicing tools, drying room, e-bike charging stations and more. After a day of cycling, enjoy the well-equipped library, warm and inviting lounge area, licensed bar, outdoor fire pit, small provision store and excellent WiFi.

Sustainability

The Timber Trail Lodge wants all guests to experience sustainability in practice and leave with a greater appreciation of minimizing impacts and protecting natural environments. The lodge features a composting system, recycling of glass and other reusable waste, operating a fully biodynamic waste-water system, offsetting of carbon emissions, involvement in local initiatives and more.
