Drive 2.5 hours to Longsheng and visit Longji Terraced Field
Enjoy the afternoon at your leisure
Walking distance:15 - 23km, 4.5 - 6.5 hrs hiking, easy to moderate grade.
Spend the day hiking at your own pace through minority villages along the verdant, softly undulating Dragon's Backbone Rice Terraces. Hiking along the large pieces of Terraced Field is a nice experience. The scene of farming and the beautiful village scenery will feast your eyes with a pure country life style.
A must-see in Longsheng is the Dragon's Backbone: hillsides of rice terraces as far as the eye can see. The best way to see them is up close and personal so prepare yourself for a gorgeous hike. The terraces fields are built along the slope from the riverside up to the mountain top, resembling a dragon's backbone. Most of these terraces fields were built 500 years ago and developed by the local minority people living in the 13 villages. Views are stunning when taking a few short hikes to the mountain top and into the fields from any villages, among which Ping'an, Dazhai and Jinkeng are most popular. Depending on the different time of year, you will see different colours: water glittering in spring, green rice shoots in summer, golden rice in fall, and silvery frost in winter.
Return to Guilin.
Enjoy an dinner (at own expense) and spend the remainder of the evening at your own leisure.
Walking distance:30 km, 6 hrs walking, easy grade.

The hike from Crown Cave to Xingping is about 30 km and it takes about 6 hours at a medium pace. You will pass small villages, and see rice fields, orchards and unique karst mountains. It is pleasant to count how many horses on the famous nine-horses-fresco as well as take a picture at Xingping which is featured on the 20 Yuan bank note. You will need to cross the river three times in a ferry boat during the hike.
Bamboo Rafting from Yangdi to Xingping. This is the most famous section of the Li-river that covers some of the most impressive part of the Li River with giant limestone peaks, sub tropical forest shading the banks and long white pebble beaches (depending on the water level).

Take in Yangshuo's countryside and the curves of the Yulong River while taking a leisurely hiking or cycling along its shore. Most cycling trails in Yangshuo are quite flat but there are hilly and mountain sections for those who want to challenge. Cycling is a great way to enjoy a great countryside view that formed by unique mountains, fabulous rivers and harmonious villages.
Hop on a traditional bamboo raft to float down the Yulong River, a tributary of the Li River that offers a peaceful look at the region's limestone mountains.
