Level 3, Approx. 10 km (6 miles), 6 hours walking
Get ready for an unforgettable adventure as we embark on a journey to discover the natural wonders of the Blue Mountains! Make your own way to Katoomba, where your day begins with a meet-and-greet and briefing by our knowledgeable guide at the Blue Mountains Adventure Company office located at 26 Parke Street in the historic Coach House of The Carington Hotel in Katoomba, starting at 8 am sharp. From there, we'll hit the road and head straight to the charming town of Wentworth Falls.
Our first stop is the iconic Conservation Hut, where we'll start our explorations by foot and soak in breathtaking views of the Jamison Valley and Mount Solitary. We'll continue our journey along scenic trails atop the escarpment, heading towards the stunning Wentworth Falls - renowned as one of the most stunning waterfalls of the Blue Mountains. To experience the full scale of this natural wonder, we'll descend the Grand Stairway carved right into the sandstone, marvelling at the creation of the trail and the stunning surroundings. After reaching the base of the falls via Slacks Stairs, we'll take a moment to soak in the beauty and perhaps even brave a quick dip in the water.
But the adventure doesn't stop there! Our trail continues on the Wentworth Pass, guiding us through lush rainforest punctuated by babbling creeks and cascading waterfalls. And as we trek upwards towards the Valley of the Waters, be prepared to be immersed in a world of stunning rainforest like no other.
Our trek will culminate with a climb back to our starting point, passing by the iconic Empress Falls and numerous other stunning natural wonders along the way.
For the next two nights, we will be staying at the esteemed Carrington Hotel in Katoomba. Located in the centre of the town, this lavish retreat features stunning Victorian-style architecture that is bound to captivate our senses. The rooms are tastefully adorned with elegant decor and equipped with contemporary amenities, all while preserving the antiquated appeal of the building. Indulge in some much-needed rest for the night and prepare yourselves for the thrilling escapades that lie ahead.
Level 4, Approx. 15 km (9 miles), 7 hours walking
After a sumptuous breakfast, lace up your hiking boots. Today, we're embarking on our longest and most rewarding walk yet - a journey through the stunning Leura Cascades, just outside the National Park. As we make our way along the tumbling Leura Falls Creek, we'll be surrounded by lush forest and breathtaking views at every turn. But that's just the beginning!
Descending into the Jamison Valley, we'll pass by some of the most dazzling greenery you've ever laid eyes on. Cross small creeks and marvel at the majestic waterfalls that dot the landscape as we make our way to Leura Forest. And don't forget to listen for the hauntingly beautiful song of the Lyrebird, as we pause to take in the awe-inspiring scenery.
Getting back on track, our journey will take us beneath the iconic Three Sisters, away from the crowds at Echo Point, and onto Federal Pass. Here, we'll explore the relics of the historic shale mines nestled at the base of towering cliffs, before finally reaching our goal for the day - the Ruined Castle.
As we soak up the panoramic views of the Southern Blue Mountains and the Jamison Valley, we'll exit via The Golden Stairs and hop aboard our minibus. A short drive filled with stunning sights will lead us right back to your accommodation in Katoomba. And tonight, the choice is yours - choose from one of many delicious dining options or ask us for our top recommendations.
Level 2, Approx. 7 km (4 miles), 2-3 hours walking
Take a step back in time and explore the historic Grand Canyon walking loop - established way back in 1907, this iconic Blue Mountains trail is a must-do for nature lovers and adventure seekers alike! Get ready to experience the diversity of this incredible ecosystem, from the harsh and scrubby dry sclerophyll forest to the ethereal cool-temperate rainforests that will leave you breathless.
As we venture deep into the heart of the Grand Canyon, you'll be immersed in a lush rainforest chasm like no other. Towering sandstone walls draped with mosses and ferns surround you, and the scent of Coachwood and Sassafras trees fills the air. Your knowledgeable guide will share insider tips and interpret the unique environment as we take our time to soak up the beauty all around us.
After a gradual climb, we'll emerge from the Canyon at Evans Lookout, where panoramic views of the stunning Grose Valley Wilderness await! Take a moment to snap some photos and reflect on the journey we've taken together.
We'll cap off our final day in the Blue Mountains at a local cafe or micro-brewery, swapping stories and sharing our favourite discoveries. Who knows what the future may hold - the possibilities are endless! Our trip concludes in the mid-afternoon in Katoomba, where you’ll make your own arrangements for your onward journey.

- The closest major airport to Katoomba, NSW, is Sydney Kingsford Smith Airport (SYD), also known as Sydney Airport. It is approximately 110 kilometers (about 68 miles) away from Katoomba and is the primary international and domestic airport serving the region.
Blue Mountains weather is often very localised and variable. Often it will be storming in one part of the mountains and sunny in another. Katoomba often experiences misty mornings, caused by cool air sinking into the valleys overnight and rising at dawn. This mist generally burns off to clear blue skies by midday. If you arrive to a misty morning, please do not assume your trip cannot go ahead, or that it will be a miserable day.
The Blue Mountains in NSW experience a temperate climate, characterised by mild summers and cool winters. During summer, temperatures typically range from 15°C to 25°C (59°F to 77°F), providing pleasant conditions for outdoor activities. Winter temperatures can drop to between 2°C and 12°C (36°F to 54°F), with occasional frosts and rare snowfall at higher elevations. The region receives a moderate amount of rainfall throughout the year, peaking during the autumn and early winter months. The diverse climate supports a rich variety of flora and fauna, making the Blue Mountains a popular destination for nature lovers and outdoor enthusiasts.
For your walks you will need to carry all equipment in a comfortable daypack that is 20 to 30 litres in capacity. Depending on the quantity of personal gear you decide to carry the average pack weight will be between 5‐7kg. This will need to include the following items:

‐ Portion of the group food and safety equipment
‐ All personal items that you decide to bring along
‐ Your additional warm layers and wet weather gear

The tour operator is at the mercy of nature in all her beauty and all her fury. The tour operator will under no circumstance knowingly place at risk the health and well-being of our guests and guides. In the case of natural threats, acts of God and the like (e.g. bushfires, impassable snow, etc) the tour operator may need to cancel a walk with very little notice. In some cases, this can occur after the walk has commenced. The tour operator reserves the right to cancel any walk up to 60 days prior to departure if a minimum of 4 walkers are unable to meet for a tour. If the tour operator needs to cancel for any reason, the cost of the walk or any other costs associated with travel to the designated pick up point, overnight accommodation, meals, etc will not be covered by the Onlyluxe Travel and therefore we strongly recommend travel insurance be taken out prior to travel.Force Majeure'Force Majeure' means (without restriction) any event which Onlyluxe Travel or its third party providers could not, even with due care, foresee or avoid. Force Majeure covers events such as, but not limited to, adverse weather conditions, fire and all similar events beyond our control. In the case of Force Majeure Onlyluxe Travel will not accept liability, and reserves the right to change and cancel trips.EvacuationsIn rare circumstances, due to injury or unforeseen illness, the tour operator may need to evacuate you from a remote part of the walk. Helicopter evacuations are expensive and in most cases will be at a cost to the customer.For Australian residents, under the Australian Government Medicare Act, it is prohibited for any domestic travel insurance product to provide any financial reimbursement with regard to ambulance or air ambulance services. We therefore strongly advise our customers to take specific ambulance cover through their health insurance provider. Evacuation cost will not be covered by the Onlyluxe Travel and therefore it is also strongly recommended that our customers take out travel insurance to cover (amongst other things) the costs associated with evacuation.Travel InsuranceIn view of the heavy cancellation penalties applied to cancelled reservations in certain circumstances, we strongly recommends suitable travel insurance be purchased at the time the holding deposit is paid. We recommend insurance cover that covers any loss which may be suffered due to cancellation. We also strongly recommend comprehensive travel insurance against loss of baggage and medical expenses.
