Begin the day with a delicious breakfast before heading out to explore Sicily's dazzling stretch of authentic wilderness at Zingaro Nature Reserve. Make your way through asphodel, wild fennel, dwarf palm, pomegranate, and citrus trees that decorate the 7 km-long (4 miles) coastal nature reserve, to witness the amazing viewpoints overlooking the gorgeous shores of little sand coves lapped by sapphire waters.
Following an amazing time at the reserve, return to your hotel, where you can take a dip in the outdoor swimming pool to ease the fatigue from today's walk.
Approx 15 km (9 miles), 3-5 hours walking
There's a short transfer (10 mins) this morning before you set out on a meandering uphill path past dwarf palms, holm oak and eucalyptus on the flanks of Monte Inici. If you're lucky, you may spot buzzards, peregrine falcons or the Sicilian rock partridge, a protected species here. The views open up over Scopello and the Zingaro reserve, before a final uphill push, rewarded with truly exceptional vistas onto the Gulf of Castellammare. Descend to the stunning, quintessentially Sicilian town of Castellammare, with its Aragonese castle, maze of medieval streets, and vibrant fishing harbour.
Transfer to the 2,500-year-old Segesta temple and the impeccably preserved theatre before heading to the hilltop town of Erice with its winding marble streets, old city gates, medieval churches, ancient squares and gorgeous Norman castle. Continue to Baroque Trapani, taking in its elegant 17th-18th-century architecture, as you make your way to your 4-star hotel: Room of Andrea. This modern boutique hotel sits majestically within the historic Palazzo Platamone and features a panoramic rooftop pool and an elegant restaurant. Savour a truly authentic Sicilian gastronomic experience with dishes prepared with fresh, high-quality local ingredients. Note that the restaurant is open from 12.00 to 22.00.

The ferry ride to Levanzo takes around 50 minutes. Once there, you can follow a coastal path lined with wildflowers like lilac scabious. The trail passes by secluded stone farmhouses and olive trees, eventually leading to the Grotta del Genovese. This fascinating cave is known for its remarkably well-preserved prehistoric cave paintings and engravings, dating back to 11,000 BC. The artwork offers a unique glimpse into the lives of early humans.
Back in Trapani, make time to visit the Torre di Ligny, a historic watchtower located at the western tip of the city. It’s a great spot to enjoy a granita, a refreshing Italian dessert, while watching the sunset. The views from the tower are stunning, with the sea and sky blending into vibrant colors as the day ends.
Approx 10 km (6 miles), 3-5 hours walking
Let a 30-minute hydrofoil journey transport you to Favignana, the largest of the Egadi Islands, celebrated for its stunning bays embraced by azure seas. Upon arriving at the island's main town, a charming cluster of whitewashed houses, your path leads uphill to the historic Castello di Santa Caterina. This 15th-century fortress offers breathtaking 360-degree panoramas of Favignana and its sister islands on a clear day. Afterwards, descend back towards the port, making sure to admire the elegant Neogothic architecture of Palazzo Florio and feel the golden sands of Spiaggia Praia beneath your feet.
The day begins with a panoramic lift down to the base of Monte Cofano, offering great views of the surrounding area. From there, we take an easy walk through groves of olive trees, with clear views of the Bay of Bonagia along the way. The walk leads to an old tonnara, a historic tuna factory that was once central to the region's fishing industry. Nearby, there are small coves with stunning sapphire-blue waters, perfect for a quick swim or just relaxing by the shore. After that, we follow a cliffside path lined with wildflowers like red valerian and field gladioli, which takes us into the small seaside village of Cornino. Here, you'll have time to enjoy a leisurely lunch at one of the local restaurants before we regroup and make our way back to the hotel.
Enjoy your final breakfast of the trip before making your way to Palermo airport to conclude your journey. If you've arranged a transfer with Headwater, a taxi will pick you up for the ride to the airport.

The route is suitable for anyone looking for walks of 4-6 hours and confident with daily ascents/descents of up to 700m. Walkers don’t need specific hiking experience, however, good health and a reasonable level of fitness is required.
