Return to the charm of Coromandel Town, renowned for great local cafes, restaurants and local art. The dinner today is at your own arrangement and expense.

Your day begins as we collect you from your Coromandel sanctuary and journey towards a landscape of untouched splendour. Our first destination is the secluded paradise of New Chums Beach, a stretch of pristine golden sand so exquisite it is celebrated as one of the world's most beautiful undeveloped coastlines. Accessible only by a winding coastal path or by sea, its isolation is its allure. Here, you are invited to embark on a leisurely 1.5 km stroll along the shoreline, where the Tasman Sea whispers secrets to the sand and marine life plays in the shallows. Lose yourself in the profound serenity of this precious ecosystem, a haven for native birds and a testament to nature's artistry.
From the sun-drenched coast, we retreat into the hushed tranquility of an ancient forest for a guided exploration of one of Coromandel’s most majestic Kauri Groves. Stand in the presence of these colossal giants as your guides share the rich history of the Kauri, their towering forms a living connection to a distant past.
Following a delightful lunch at a charming local café, we will guide you to the geothermal wonders of Hot Water Beach. Here, a truly unique Kiwi experience awaits. As the tide recedes, you can dig your own spa pool in the soft sand, allowing the earth’s natural hot springs to create a personal thermal bath against the backdrop of the Pacific surf.
The adventure continues as we trace the breathtaking coastline, where dramatic cliffs carve a path toward the iconic rock archway of Cathedral Cove. Embark on the celebrated Cathedral Cove Walk, a 2.5 km return journey along a well-graded path that meanders along the headland from Hahei before descending into the Gemstone Bay valley. For those who wish to explore further, an optional 40-minute walk to Te Pare Point offers even more expansive views.
As twilight descends, the evening is yours to design. Coromandel Town, a culinary gem, offers a constellation of award-winning restaurants and cafés, where you can indulge in dishes inspired by the fresh, local produce for which this bountiful region is renowned.

Allow yourself to be drawn into the hidden world of the Kauaeranga Valley, where the majestic Pinnacles range awaits to unveil its ancient secrets. Picture a landscape born of fire, where a chain of volcanic cones once pierced the sky, now weathered by time into the spectacular series of jagged outcrops that command the horizon today.
Your journey follows the historic Pinnacles Trail, a path carved by kauri bushmen through steep and rugged country between the 1870s and 1920s. Feel the whispers of the past as you ascend through regenerating kauri forest, a verdant canopy that shelters one of New Zealand's best-preserved kauri dams—a marvel of ingenuity nestled in the wilderness. The trail continues its climb, eventually cresting the range to reveal the Pinnacles Hut, your gateway to the heavens.
From here, a final, exhilarating scramble leads you to the summit of the Pinnacles rock formation. Step out onto this natural citadel and be rewarded with a breathtaking tapestry of 360° views, where the entire Coromandel Peninsula unfolds beneath you, a masterpiece of coastline, forest, and shimmering sea stretching to the edge of the world.

The Coromandel does not have very distinct seasons. As the region has a lengthy coastline it enjoys a subtropical/oceanic climate with year-round moderate temperatures and no particular rainy season. This makes it an excellent destination for those who wish to experience nature up close, relax, and explore the untouched beauty to be found here.Temperatures in The Coromandel reach between 24 - 31°C in the summer months and average around 12 - 14°C in the middle of winter.

The tour operator is at the mercy of nature in all her beauty and all her fury. The tour operator will under no circumstance knowingly place at risk the health and well-being of our guests and guides. In the case of natural threats, acts of God and the like (e.g. bushfires, impassable snow, etc) the tour operator may need to cancel a walk with very little notice. In some cases, this can occur after the walk has commenced. The tour operator reserves the right to cancel any walk up to 60 days prior to departure if a minimum of 4 walkers are unable to meet for a tour. If the tour operator needs to cancel for any reason, the cost of the walk or any other costs associated with travel to the designated pick up point, overnight accommodation, meals, etc will not be covered by the Onlyluxe Travel and therefore we strongly recommend travel insurance be taken out prior to travel.Force Majeure'Force Majeure' means (without restriction) any event which Onlyluxe Travel or its third party providers could not, even with due care, foresee or avoid. Force Majeure covers events such as, but not limited to, adverse weather conditions, fire and all similar events beyond our control. In the case of Force Majeure Onlyluxe Travel will not accept liability, and reserves the right to change and cancel trips.EvacuationsIn rare circumstances, due to injury or unforeseen illness, the tour operator may need to evacuate you from a remote part of the walk. Helicopter evacuations are expensive and in most cases will be at a cost to the customer.For Australian residents, under the Australian Government Medicare Act, it is prohibited for any domestic travel insurance product to provide any financial reimbursement with regard to ambulance or air ambulance services. We therefore strongly advise our customers to take specific ambulance cover through their health insurance provider. Evacuation cost will not be covered by the Onlyluxe Travel and therefore it is also strongly recommended that our customers take out travel insurance to cover (amongst other things) the costs associated with evacuation.Travel InsuranceIn view of the heavy cancellation penalties applied to cancelled reservations in certain circumstances, we strongly recommends suitable travel insurance be purchased at the time the holding deposit is paid. We recommend insurance cover that covers any loss which may be suffered due to cancellation. We also strongly recommend comprehensive travel insurance against loss of baggage and medical expenses.
