Pumphouse Point is located in the middle of Tasmania, on the Southern Hemisphere’s deepest lake, Lake St Clair.
The closest airport is Launceston Airport (LST). The drive is approximately 2hrs and 30 minutes.
Once operating as a hydro-electric station, the heritage building offers three different room types on the water. From the the Pumphouse top floor rooms with plenty of space and some with a giant bathroom with a decadent bathtub while others offer distinct architectural styling with split level layouts. The Pumphouse Middle rooms with floor to ceiling windows looking over the lake sleeping two guests whilst the Pumphouse Ground Floor Rooms offer comfortably-sized rooms, each with its own unique character and connection to the lake. Each room features a large comfortable bed and ensuite bathroom.
Wine, conversation and courses flow, with the ease of a big family meal. Dinner in The Shorehouse is included in the room rate for all guests each night, featuring a seasonal three-course set menu – nourishing soups, roasted and braised meats, fresh vegetables, and decadent desserts. On Saturday nights, indulge in a fiery feast of local meats cooked on two enormous Asado grills. If you’d prefer a little more privacy, retreat to your room, where you will find a larder filled with tempting produce – artisan cheeses, cured meats, antipasti, on-the-go snacks and more.
