Walking information: 18km | Easy to Moderate (14km, 16km or 21km walks also available to suit your fitness level)
After a gourmet breakfast, set out on your first full day hike along the famous Cape to Cape Track. Starting from Yallingup, pass over the granite headland at Torpedo Rock towards the fabled Smiths Beach, widely known among the surf community for its ability to hold huge swells in those clear waters.
Continue on to Canal Rocks, where the Indian Ocean has carved curious crevasses and channels into the headland, leaving a network of patchy rocky islands. These channels can be observed from a raised wooden boardwalk that takes you out onto the rocks.
Trek on past Rotary Lookout and Injidup beach before winding your way through coastal tea tree towards the wild southwest facing coast. Follow the dramatic limestone cliffs and granite fields and you will soon be rewarded with the grand finale of today’s hike: Moses Rock. This golden sandy beach is the perfect place to wash off the sweat!
At the end of the day, you’ll transfer back to Cape Lodge for another well-deserved 4-course dinner.
Walking information: 12.5km | Moderate (Different walking distances also available to suit your fitness level)
Pick up the Cape to Cape Track from the limestone ridge at Prevelly. From here, follow the line of the creek to Boodjidup, where you will find a long stretch of pristine white sand that leads all the way to Redgate Beach. Nestled between rocky outcrops, this spectacular sandy beach has a dark past that belies its beauty: the coastline was associated with some eighty shipwrecks in the late 1800s.
Next, it’s time for one of the most iconic sections of the Track: the scenic coastal cliffs at Bob’s Hollow. The remnants of cave walls and roofs, these cliffs are one of Western Australia’s most popular rock climbing spots, offering fabulous views of nearby Contos Beach.
Cap off the walk with a stroll through the majestic Karri forest, home to the world’s third tallest hardwood, some over 60 metres in height. The sight of these enormous trees won’t be the only thing to amaze you: the forest is a feast for the senses teeming with wildflowers, orchids and fungi (in season), the fresh smell of Eucalyptus and the sounds of native birds.
Travel beyond the Cellar Door with an immersive exploration of Voyager Estate’s craft and terroir.
The adventure begins with a guided walk through the Estate vineyards, where you’ll learn about organic farming methods, unique microclimate and maritime influence, all essential to the Estate’s distinctive style.
Next, visit the winery, tasting wine straight from the barrel and gaining an insight into the philosophy that drives the winemaking craft. Once you’ve seen where the wine comes from, it’s time to return to the Cellar Door, where you’ll be guided through a selection of celebrated Margaret River varietals.
After the tour, move into the Top-5 Western Australian-rated restaurant for a delectable 4-course, wine-paired lunch. Created by Head Chef Santiago Fernandez and his team, each dish is inspired by the wines while celebrating pristine local produce.
