Begin your journey from the charming medieval villages of Dunkeld and Birnam, built in the 1700s by the Dukes of Atholl. Spend these next couple of days exploring its wonders.
Embark on a walking trail traversing picturesque deciduous woodlands along the River Braan to beautiful Black Linn waterfall and its confluence with the River Tay. Stand in awe of the ancient Birnam Oak, immortalized in Shakespeare's Macbeth. Unearth and absorb the stunning natural beauty of the Cairngorms National Park and the Royal Deeside National Park. Hike through old pine woods, cross ethereal glens, see local wildlife, and learn about Scottish history as you take in the majestic mountain peaks on this energetic journey into Scotland's most unspoiled environment. Engage in culture as you toss a caber at the Highland Games Centre in Braemar, where the Braemar Gathering has been a highlight on the sporting calendar since 1832.
You'll stay at an intimate 10-bedroom hotel, set in a quaint 19th century country house. Nestled in the village of Ballater in the Cairngorms National Park, which boasts wonderful views across the valley of the River Dee to the hills around Glen Muick. Follow an ancient path used by cattle-thieving Cateran marauders in the Middle Ages. Straddling the border between Perthshire and Angus, the Cateran Trail is a spectacular walk through a quiet corner of the Cairngorms Highlands. One of Scotland’s Great Trails, the Cateran Trail, is a circular route divided into five stages and follows old drove roads and ancient tracks across a varied terrain of farmland, forests, and moors. Explore an authentic Scottish landscape of spittals, moors, hills, heaths, bogs, and glens with glorious views of the Grampian Mountain range, whose peaks are often shrouded in mist. Grampian is a large area stretching across the Scottish Highlands to the east coast. The area is widely known for the Grampian Mountains, which consist of three mountain ranges and includes Ben Nevis, the highest mountain in the British Isles offering breathtaking views.
This Cairngorms national park features wildlife-rich landscapes, hiking and skiing options, and renowned distilleries where you can get a true taste of Scottish culture. Marvel at snow-capped mountains and ancient pine woods to pristine and tranquil lakes. A paradise for wildlife, keep eyes peeled for pine martens, wildcats, capercaillies, red squirrels, golden eagles, and rutting deer. If you'd like to go for a walk before or after dinner, climb the steep trek to the Falls of Bruar to witness the cascades and falls that inspired Robert Burns, Scotland's national poet, to write a poem in 1787.
You'll stay at an ivy-clad 19th century manse turned boutique hotel at The Old Manse of Blair. Located on 10 acres of lush green countryside, take a lovely stroll on its immaculate gardens or unwind in the exquisite Drawing Room, a perfect bode for aperitifs and digestives.

The next few days’ see’s you unlocking the picturesque bens, glens and lakes of Loch Lomond and The Trossachs National Park. Be in awe as you delve deep into The Trossachs National Park surrounded by forests and offers stunning views of the surrounding hills and mountains with a diversified landscape that includes 21 Munros (Scottish mountains), two forest parks, 22 lochs, and more than 50 specially designated nature conservation sites. Marvel at Loch Lomond, Great Britain's largest inland body of water by surface area, surrounded by stunning mountains and serene expanses.
Visit the Victorian seaside town of Helensburgh—home to Charles Rennie Mackintosh's architectural masterpiece, Hill House, which serves as a starting point for the coast-to coast John Muir Way. Climb Gouk Hill for breathtaking views of the coastline, the Campsie Fells, and the shimmering waters of Loch Lomond below. The Campsie Fells are a group of volcanic mountains to the north of Glasgow with various landscapes, vast moorland, steep-sided glens, fast-flowing burns, lush woods, and mountains. Ascend an iconic Scottish summit, Conic Hill, situated on the Highland Boundary Fault giving sweeping views of Ben Lomond and the Arrochar Alps (and Glasgow on a clear day).
You’ll cross Stoneymollan Muir and descend to the exquisite Cameron House, a resort bursting with Gothic grandeur and your home for the next few nights. Set on a shoreline brimming with oak woods and wilderness, this oasis gives sweeping views of a 24-mile-long freshwater loch, Scotland's largest. Unwind at the waterfront golf course, pamper with a spa treatment, laze by one of two pools or relax by the boardwalk chick boathouse restaurant.
Your final day see’s you strolling the bonnie banks of Loch Lomond before returning to Edinburgh where your inspiring journey ends. Note: Lunch and Dinner is not included on Day 6.

Scotland is known for its unpredictable and often windy and rainy weather; however, showers can quickly turn to sunny skies and heat waves can move in for weeks. If your trip takes place in early September, please note that the weather cools down considerably and typical fall weather occurs.
In Scotland, the summers are warm and humid, the winters are very cold and snowy, and it is partly cloudy year round. Over the course of the year, the temperature typically varies from 24°F to 85°F and is rarely below 11°F or above 93°F. Scotland's oceanic climate is generally cool and very wet. The average annual high temperature is around 11 degrees Celsius (51° Fahrenheit). The day to day weather can vary enormously and is very unpredictably. The east coast has a marginally more continental climate than the west, which has drier weather, sunnier summers and colder winters.
