Arrive in Cairns where you’ll be picked up for a private transfer into the world’s oldest living rainforest, The Daintree Rainforest. Here, your sustainable home for the next 4 nights awaits at the only boutique accommodation in the World-Heritage Listed Daintree Rainforest. The Daintree Rainforest is part of the traditional lands of the Eastern Kuku Yalanji people, who have lived in the region for thousands of years. During your stay, be immersed into authentic and immersive experiences that highlights the cultural significance of the Daintree Rainforest and its connection to the Kuku Yalanji people.
Unwind in your eco-friendly bayans immersed high amid the forest canopy complete with your private micro-screen balcony to ensure you feel as close to nature as possible. For those in pursue of some exploration can embark on a 2-hour guided sunset river cruise* in search for wildlife in their natural habitat. Today, you’ll unearth where the rainforest meets the reef by exploring all the Daintree Rainforest and Cape Tribulation region has to offer.
You’ll be picked up at approximately 845am at the lodge. Relax in the comfort of a custom-built 4WD while your local naturalist guides bring informative and entertaining stories as you journey along the scenic coastal route of Captain Cook Highway. Keep a lookout for crocodiles and birds as you enjoy a serene Daintree River cruise. Learn about the flora and fauna and Aboriginal culture and history on a guided elevated boardwalk adventure through the Daintree Rainforest. Keep your eyes peeled for rare animals like the Cassowary and Boyd’s Dragon. Along the way, embark on a thrilling 4WD ride through the World Heritage Listed rainforest on the rugged Bloomfield Track to Emmagen Creek for more wildlife spotting and a refreshing swim. Cap off the day by relaxing, soaking in the sunshine and enjoying a swim at the breathtaking Cape Tribulation Beach where the rainforest meets the sea. Delight yourself to a Daintree ice cream before your journey back to your ecolodge.

Located in Tropical North Queensland, Cairns has a tropical climate with generally hot and humid summers and milder, dryer winters. Temperatures are fairly constant throughout the year: 23-31 degrees Celsius in summer and 18-36 degrees Celsius in winter. The majority of Cairns’ rainfall occurs in summer between January and March, with a possibility of thunderstorms and tropical cyclones.

The tour operator is at the mercy of nature in all her beauty and all her fury. The tour operator will under no circumstance knowingly place at risk the health and well-being of our guests and guides. In the case of natural threats, acts of God and the like (e.g. bushfires, impassable snow, etc) the tour operator may need to cancel a walk with very little notice. In some cases, this can occur after the walk has commenced. The tour operator reserves the right to cancel any walk up to 60 days prior to departure if a minimum of 4 walkers are unable to meet for a tour. If the tour operator needs to cancel for any reason, the cost of the walk or any other costs associated with travel to the designated pick up point, overnight accommodation, meals, etc will not be covered by the Onlyluxe Travel and therefore we strongly recommend travel insurance be taken out prior to travel.Force Majeure'Force Majeure' means (without restriction) any event which Onlyluxe Travel or its third party providers could not, even with due care, foresee or avoid. Force Majeure covers events such as, but not limited to, adverse weather conditions, fire and all similar events beyond our control. In the case of Force Majeure Onlyluxe Travel will not accept liability, and reserves the right to change and cancel trips.EvacuationsIn rare circumstances, due to injury or unforeseen illness, the tour operator may need to evacuate you from a remote part of the walk. Helicopter evacuations are expensive and in most cases will be at a cost to the customer.For Australian residents, under the Australian Government Medicare Act, it is prohibited for any domestic travel insurance product to provide any financial reimbursement with regard to ambulance or air ambulance services. We therefore strongly advise our customers to take specific ambulance cover through their health insurance provider. Evacuation cost will not be covered by the Onlyluxe Travel and therefore it is also strongly recommended that our customers take out travel insurance to cover (amongst other things) the costs associated with evacuation.Travel InsuranceIn view of the heavy cancellation penalties applied to cancelled reservations in certain circumstances, we strongly recommends suitable travel insurance be purchased at the time the holding deposit is paid. We recommend insurance cover that covers any loss which may be suffered due to cancellation. We also strongly recommend comprehensive travel insurance against loss of baggage and medical expenses.
