Rendezvous with your tour leaders at 10 am at Kennedy Park, Napa. Please come prepared; dressed in biking clothes and with your rain gear and any other thing you'll need for the day, including your luggage (which will be transported to our first night's accommodations).
Start the journey at Napa, where the tour leaders fit your bike and educate you on biking techniques and brief on biking safety and techniques before you go on a warm-up ride. You bike through the famous downtown Napa along the serene oak-linked roads through vineyards. You continue along the Silverado Trail, circumventing the eastern foothills, following the rolling terrain, and bursting out into the heart of Napa Valley. Also, you will pass through the renowned American Viticultural Area (AVA) of Rutherford, whose unique soil composition referred to as the "Rutherford Dust" produces top-notch cabernets.
Following that, we eat lunch in the stunning town of Yountville, the street decorated with boutiques and galleries. Then, we enjoy a baked treat from the legendary Bouchon Bakery, take a walk past the gardens of the world-class French Laundry restaurant, and maybe indulge in wine tasting in one of Napa's remarkable wineries.
Your ride ends at Solage, your home for the next two nights. You’ll stay at a picturesque 22 acres oasis embraced by sweeping serene mountain views. Take a dip in their world-class swimming pool and savour the tranquility embraced by staggering mountain vistas, or rejuvenate to a relaxing massage at the high-end spa to help you de-stress from the day’s adventure.

After eating breakfast, you bike along the Silverado Trail, circumventing the eastern foothills and following rolling terrain bursting out into the heart of Napa Valley. As we bike past the well-groomed vineyards, old barns, and quaint farmhouses, you could stop at any of the popular wineries including Frog's Leap, Silver Oak, and Cliff Lede.
Riders who prefer California's countryside to wine tasting and don't mind a few more miles can bike to the remote Pope Valley which gives a feel of the Napa of the 1970s before it became a popular tourist destination. Follow a peaceful oak-linked road past acres of vineyards and then descend to the valley floor along the shoreline of Lake Hennessey. When you are back in town, you will be greeted with a sumptuous lunch and a tad of wine tasting.
Make your way back to the hotel in the van or for those with energy take a serene bike ride. Spend the rest of the afternoon relaxing and rejuvenating to your heart’s content. Enjoy your resort’s cosmopolitan luxuries from exhilarating and soothing spa facilities including 5 spa tubs, a health club and a sauna. Come evening reconvene for a lovely dinner in town bursting of fresh Californian flavours.

After enjoying a nice breakfast, you hop in the shuttle for a ride to our starting point for the day, which is just outside Calistoga. You have the option of riding directly from Solage but be sure to inform your leaders and leave earlier.
As you bike deeper into the reclining western Sonoma County, initially known for its extensive apple industry, bask in the scenery as it transforms from vineyards to groves of eucalyptus, apple trees, rolling fields, and extensive cattle-grazing country. In the town of Sebastopol, make a stop in the stunning artisan Barlow District where you can enjoy lunch on your own today. This stop is an outdoor market filled with local vendors that range from an ice creamery to a gourmet taqueria.
The afternoon trip is one of the most challenging of the entire trip as it is characterized by a few major climbs, and gales as you approach the Pacific. You will also be chanced to tackle a portion of Levi Leipheimer's King Ridge GranFondo course from Santa Rosa out to the coast through the Coleman Valley and learn its history.
Lately, it has become a popular tourist destination known for its miles of rugged headlands and abundant wildlife including snowy egrets, brown pelicans, harbor seals and California sea lions.
At the end of the stressful day, you can unwind at the spa or simply relax in your luxury room at the Bodega Bay Lodge or you might prefer to go swimming and enjoy the startling view of a beautiful sunset. Begin the day with a spin along the coast past 10 miles of vertical walled bluffs and a series of Sonoma Coast State Park beaches. Make sure to look out for surfers and seal amidst the crashing surf. Swerve inshore at the mouth of the Russian River and follow its path.
Get a feel of the bohemian culture as you ride through Guerneville. Visit one of their diversified shops or grab an ice cream cone in the notable bank building. Enter into a state of serenity as you enter the Armstrong Redwoods State Reserve enshrouded in the inebriating earthy scent of wood and rich soil. After this, we feast on a gourmet picnic under towering thousand-year-old redwoods.
In the afternoon, the ride takes you past various popular wineries including Twomey Cellars, a Russian River gem boasting fine Pinot noir. The route is engulfed in oak trees that open up as you approach Healdsburg, and you are once again greeted by vineyards.
After today’s adventure, a restorative session at the luxury spa or a soothing swim in the shimmering pool at the Hotel Healdsburg will definitely help you relax.
In the evening, you will have the opportunity to enjoy a delicious dinner on your own in one of the region’s exotic restaurants.

After breakfast, you head out for a spin, on your bike through the narrow Dry Creek Valley known for producing some of the most exquisite zinfandels in California. If you like, you could stop for a cappuccino at Geyserville Coffee. The rolling route continues to the Alexander Valley, which has been compared to France's Bordeaux region. In the past two decades, various first-rate wineries have been established in the area including Robert Young Estate, Hanna Winery, and Hawkes among others.
We’ll make a stop in Alexander Valley for a nice picnic lunch followed by a tasting at Silver Oak Winery's brand-new state-of-the-art facility. You can choose to bike or shuttle back to the hotel where you can visit the spa or stroll around the plaza downtown.
For those interested in cycling more miles you could head up the bucolic Chalk Hill Road in the afternoon, where you'll enter a quiet and serene but challenging hill. After that, you continue your ride through Windsor and back to Healdsburg. To end the day, we converge for a special dinner at the hotel's restaurant; Dry Creek Kitchen.

Today, choose your adventure. For those in search of one last escapade, embark on a bike ride enjoying a loop ride on the two parallel roads along the Russian River: Eastside and Westside Roads. Make your way up the climb and enjoy the wide view along the rolling hills on the Westside Road back to Healdsburg.
For those seeking for a relaxing end to their adventure, detox to the creature comforts of your hotel or visit one of the shops to grab a souvenir or an item you’ve been eyeing.
Later in the day, gather for lunch for a celebratory affair at the historic Oakville Grocery in Healdsburg and bid your farewells.

Major commercial flights provide convenient access to Napa Valley. Napa County Airport is the closest airport to Napa Valley and the wine country. The closest international airports to Napa Valley are Oakland International Airport, 50 miles south, and San Francisco International Airport, 55 miles south. Sacramento International Airport is 60 miles west of Napa Valley.
Defined by mountain ranges and influenced by its proximity to the Pacific Ocean, the Napa Valley enjoys a dry Mediterranean climate. Each season in the wine country is unique. In the spring, the days are warm and the evenings are cool. A layer of low clouds and fog often moves inland during the night and retreats mid-morning. Summers can be intensely hot during the day with evenings bringing cooler temperatures. Rainfall is negligible June through September. In the fall, warm weather continues with October being characterized by spring-like temperatures, but with rain likely. Guests on trips departing in March, April, November and December especially should come prepared for rain and cold weather. The warmest time of year is generally late August to early September where highs are regularly around 86.5°F (30.3°C) with temperatures rarely dropping below 51.8°F (11°C) at night.

Suggested for riders with some tandem experience and on trips with flatter terrain. Due to the tandem's size, frequent racking is not realistic, so there may be fewer opportunities to hop in the van.
