Lochmara Lodge is located within the Queen Charlotte Sound has no road access, meaning a short boat trip from Picton of 15 minutes is the only way to access the property. Flights to Picton are available domestically. The closest internal airport is Wellington International Airport, just over a 4-hour ferry to Picton or a 5 hour drive from Christchurch International Airport.
Lochmara Lodge features four units from studio to family rooms sleeping up to five people, most with porches and shared courtyard overlooking the beautiful bay. There are also two chalets located on the property that offers elegant decor and opens to a balcony with views of the bay. Each room offers complimentary use of the kayaks and paddle boards as well as entry into the Art and Nature walks.
There is a restaurant/café located onsite at Lochmara Lodge open 7 days for breakfast, lunch, dinner and all-day coffee, home baking and snacks along with a range of local wines, beers and juices. Enjoy seasonal Marlborough flavours, incorporating the regional specialties from sea and land. Lochmara has a garden, orchard, and free-range chickens, of which eggs are harvested. Where possible, organic, and local fresh produced is sourced. Savour the Marlborough and New Zealand wines on offer, as well as boutique craft beers. Do not forget to try the coffee, with a reputation for the best coffee in the Sounds.
