Marvel at its architecture made from recycled wood, jetty timbers and limestone sourced from their property. Your wine tasting journey continues to the picturesque Dudley Wines cellar door. Be mesmerised by its sweeping and iconic, cliff-top ocean view across Backstairs Passage to mainland Australia. You'll depart your lodge at approximately 9:00 am and journey west across the island towards the first stop, Seal Bay Conservation Park. Keep your eyes peeled for wildlife on the roadsides as you drive through a variety of vegetative areas. Seal Bay Conservation Park is home to the endangered Australian sea lion. With only an estimated 12,000 sea lions left in the world, Seal Bay is the third largest colony of this species. Walk through the striking sand dune system and along the pristine beach with your experienced guide or knowledgeable Park Ranger for approximately an hour, as you gain insight about these beautiful mammals.
On the way to famous Flinders Chase National Park keep an eye out for Rosenberg goannas lazing in the sun, where we’ll view the stunning rejuvenation of native bush species from the devastating bushfires of 2019-20. A stop at Remarkable Rocks will give you the first views of the rugged coastline in this diverse national park. The amazing rock formations and distinct red rocks are a photographer’s delight.
Enjoy a delicious lunch before spending the afternoon exploring other known attractions in the park, namely Cape Du Couedic, Weirs Cove and Admirals Arch. Learn about the early maritime history of this wild environment, all the while spotting other native animal species including long-nosed fur seals at Admirals Arch, echidnas, kangaroos, tammar wallabies and a range of birds and reptiles. Enjoy a refreshing swim or a short walk at one of the many picturesque beaches (temperatures permitting) before arriving back at your lodge at approximately 5:30 pm.
Today, taste your way at the property or around the island provided by a diverse range of predominantly small businesses and providores on Kangaroo Island - home to some of Australia’s premium Ligurian honey, beers and spirits. You will be able to choose as many or as few activities as they wish from this schedule (subject to their operating days). The available experiences will be confirmed upon arrival.
The rotating schedule will feature two to three activities daily, including:- Kangaroo Island honey and native foods (daily)- Kangaroo Island Gin tasting (daily)- Sundowners with the kangaroos (daily) - Cape Willoughby Lighthouse tour and heritage walk (daily)- Antechamber Bay beach 4.2km / 2.6m long white-sandy beach walk relaxing in the sunshine listening to the calm waves lap up on the beach (four times per week)- Visit a local sheep shearer and his kelpie dogs (three times per week)- Morning yoga (three times per week)

Kangaroo Island has a Mediterranean climate: warm to hot dry summers (December – February) with very low humidity; and cool, mild winters (June – August). The majority of rainfall occurs from April – September, while strong winds are a possibility throughout the year.

The tour operator is at the mercy of nature in all her beauty and all her fury. The tour operator will under no circumstance knowingly place at risk the health and well-being of our guests and guides. In the case of natural threats, acts of God and the like (e.g. bushfires, impassable snow, etc) the tour operator may need to cancel a walk with very little notice. In some cases, this can occur after the walk has commenced. The tour operator reserves the right to cancel any walk up to 60 days prior to departure if a minimum of 4 walkers are unable to meet for a tour. If the tour operator needs to cancel for any reason, the cost of the walk or any other costs associated with travel to the designated pick up point, overnight accommodation, meals, etc will not be covered by the Onlyluxe Travel and therefore we strongly recommend travel insurance be taken out prior to travel.Force Majeure'Force Majeure' means (without restriction) any event which Onlyluxe Travel or its third party providers could not, even with due care, foresee or avoid. Force Majeure covers events such as, but not limited to, adverse weather conditions, fire and all similar events beyond our control. In the case of Force Majeure Onlyluxe Travel will not accept liability, and reserves the right to change and cancel trips.EvacuationsIn rare circumstances, due to injury or unforeseen illness, the tour operator may need to evacuate you from a remote part of the walk. Helicopter evacuations are expensive and in most cases will be at a cost to the customer.For Australian residents, under the Australian Government Medicare Act, it is prohibited for any domestic travel insurance product to provide any financial reimbursement with regard to ambulance or air ambulance services. We therefore strongly advise our customers to take specific ambulance cover through their health insurance provider. Evacuation cost will not be covered by the Onlyluxe Travel and therefore it is also strongly recommended that our customers take out travel insurance to cover (amongst other things) the costs associated with evacuation.Travel InsuranceIn view of the heavy cancellation penalties applied to cancelled reservations in certain circumstances, we strongly recommends suitable travel insurance be purchased at the time the holding deposit is paid. We recommend insurance cover that covers any loss which may be suffered due to cancellation. We also strongly recommend comprehensive travel insurance against loss of baggage and medical expenses.
