On the first day of the trip, the tour guides will meet you at the lobby of your Tokyo hotel between 6:30 and 6:45 am for pick-up and transfer to Mount Fuji Fujinomiya 5th station. There will be a team discussion and briefing about the trip before the journey begins. For those in the Mount Fuji area (Hakone, Gotemba, and Kawaguchiko), your tour guide will meet you at your hotel's lobby for pick-up and transfer between 8:30 and 9:00 am.
Upon group arrival at Mount Fuji Fujinomiya 5th station, there will be another briefing on the dynamics and peculiarities of the climb. Afterward, the ascent begins via the Fujinomiya route to the 8th station at 3,300 metres (10,826 feet). At the 8th station, the team settles down at a mountain hut, known as Akaiwa Hachigo, for a tantalising all-you-can-eat curry rice dinner. Next, everyone retires into their respective accommodations. The mountain hut features dorm-style accommodations, with each guest having a tatami mat worth of space featuring a bunk, sleeping bag, and bedding with a pillow, all in Japanese style.
The 8th station marks the final critical point of the trail just before the summit, which is a 2-hour climb away. So, before we rest for the night with the summit in mind, seize the period to experience life in a mountain hut atop 3,300 metres (10,826 feet). Leverage the close-knit dorm-style accommodation to socialise and swap stories with fellow climbers, forming bonds that could outlast the expedition.
This morning, between 1:00 and 3:00 am, we continue our ascent to the summit. We'll arrive between 4:00 and 5:00 am just in time for sunrise views of Japan's striking landscapes below and of course, the beautiful horizon that salutes us in the morning. If there's still time and the weather permits, we'll make an hour's circuit trip of the 8 magnificent peaks of Mount Fuji. Otherwise, we begin our descent in earnest to the 8th station hut after satiating our eyes with the wondrous vistas only available at the top, that is - at 3,776 m (12, 389 ft) above sea level.
After climbing down to our 8th station mountain hut accommodation, we enjoy a rewarding lighthearted breakfast and continue the descent to the 5th station, where it began. On arriving at the 5th station, we’ll rest, savour a refreshing lunch sourced from local ingredients, and depart for our second accommodation - Satoyama Vacation. We'll arrive by noon at most to recharge, refresh, and rest. On arrival, take a shower, and proceed to enjoy lunch at the local restaurant in this glamping resort. This afternoon, there will be enough time to relax, drink in the views of Mount Fuji right from your glamping accommodation, and recover from the strenuous descent. Leverage the time to enjoy social moments with fellow climbers and swap experiences.
In the evening, we shall enjoy an exotic dinner featuring farm-to-table barbecue, with chief ingredients like meat and vegetables sourced from local farms. Locally brewed beer and sake will be served on request to wash down the delicious barbecue. Afterward, we yield to the call of the glamping resort's interior for a pleasant night's rest, with mountains watching over us, a perfect time to praise yourself for climbing this towering natural wonder.
The cosy glamping resort is and eco-tourism hub that offers us the ideal luxury camping experience, including a front seat to gaze at Mount Fuji's imposing walls. Facilities at the resort include 3 spacious, 4-person glamping tents, a full kitchen and fridge, comfortable beds with bedding, 3 bathrooms, 2 shower rooms, 3 full decks, hammocks, fire pits, stargazing telescopes, and indoor and outdoor seating areas. These facilities, including a shared lounge and garden, are yours to indulge in for the evening before sleeping.
Today, we come to the end of a trip that has been nothing short of phenomenal. However, the trip's end will be as intriguing as the beginning, starting with a short trip to the bewitching Shiraito Falls. Accessing the falls is in two options - a short drive of 5 minutes or a 20-minute walk if you are fit as fiddle for it. After capturing inviting views of these falls, we return to our glamping lodge for a hearty breakfast featuring freshly baked hot bread from a local bakery.
Next, we check out of the resort and hop on an e-bike to explore the lengths and breadths of a typical Japanese rural village on the foothills of Mount Fuji. The journey weaves through the cultural essence, natural beauty, and culinary/brewery aspects of this Japanese settlement.
Special Note: If unfortunately, there is a heavy downpour, the e-bike tour will be substituted with a village tour via a Hi-Ace bus. Also, children below 150 cm can't ride an e-bike under Japanese law and will be given a bus tour of the village instead.
After a thrilling ride, you'll be dropped off at Shin Fuji Station to mark the end of the trip. From this station, a bullet train can directly take you to Tokyo or Kyoto for final departure.

Japan's weather and climate features four distinct seasons.
Spring is from March to May. It's perhaps one of the very best times to visit Japan as temperatures are pleasantly warm without being too hot, with daytime temperatures ranging between 21°C to 26°C. The country is ablaze with beautiful white and pink cherry blossom and plenty festivals to enjoy.
Summer is from June to August and the country experiences a three to four-week rainy season. It is hot and humid during this time and temperatures are often in the high 30’s. If you plan on visiting Japan during the summer weather, northern areas such as Hokkaido or the mountains of Tohoku or Chubu are the most comfortable places to escape the heat.
Autumn is from September to November and is characterised by light breezes and cooler temperatures of around 8-10°C. It is also a wonderful time to visit Japan. The country turns into a haven of red and scarlet leaves which contrast strikingly against the deep blue clear skies and almost as impressive as the stunning cherry blossoms.
Winter is from December to February. It is a magical time to visit as the landscape is turned white with snow. It's the perfect time to go skiing or check out the hot springs, especially venture to the ski slopes of Hokkaido or Nagano. It's Okinawa is a great place to visit during the winter as it is not quite as cold as the rest of Japan’s weather.

In some cases, this can occur after the tour has commenced. We therefore strongly advise our customers to take specific ambulance cover through their health insurance provider. Evacuation cost will not be covered by the Onlyluxe Travel and therefore it is also strongly recommended that our customers take out travel insurance to cover (amongst other things) the costs associated with evacuation.Travel InsuranceIn view of the heavy cancellation penalties applied to cancelled reservations in certain circumstances, we strongly recommends suitable travel insurance be purchased at the time the holding deposit is paid.
