At A Glance

Experience a new standard of sophistication in expedition cruising aboard Coral Discoverer. Launched in 2005, this 72-passenger ship is purpose-built to take you closer to unspoilt vistas in comfort, style and safety. Her swallow draught and manoeuvrability allow her to reach some of Australia’s most remote and rarely visited coastlines and islands, while her tender vessel Xplorer features a state-of-the-art hydraulic lowering system and can seat all 72 passengers for excursions to hard-to-reach beaches, rivers and beyond. Australian flagged and staffed entirely by an Australian and New Zealand crew, your experience aboard Coral Discoverer will be unforgettable.

Gourmet Food & Wine

People and place are key to enjoyable dining experiences, where food becomes the vehicle for conversation and creating lifelong memories. On board Coral Discoverer, the approach to cuisine is about generosity and simplicity, creating dishes bursting with flavour made from fresh ingredients sourced locally and sustainably wherever possible. The cuisine has a distinctly Australian accent influenced by the culinary landscape of the regions visited. All meals are included - breakfast, lunch, dinner – along with a selection of wines, beers, juices, soft drinks and selected spirits.

No Queues, No Waiting

Coral Discoverer offers a very different expedition cruise experience. Instead of organised onboard entertainment, enjoy a daily program of lectures, briefings and themed documentaries and movies. Instead of ‘formal’ nights or assigned seating, dine with whomever you please and share the day’s stories. Instead of a casino, venture to the deck and chat with the Captain. Instead of a swimming pool, lead from the swimming platform into the ocean. Aboard Coral Discoverer, you will not tip nor will you pay for shore excursions. Just bring your passion to dream, explore and discover.

Unique Itineraries

As magnificent as Coral Discoverer is, the focus is not on the ship but on the destination. Coral Discoverer’s shallow draft means the vessel can go where larger ships cannot. Every day typically has at least one stop for water or land-based activities. With a strong focus on visiting places off the beaten track, shore excursions are designed to promote local interaction and cultural exchange. One of the great benefits of travelling on a small ship is our ability to make impromptu stops when extraordinary opportunities present. A small group size ensures that shore excursions are comfortable and enjoyable, ...

First Class Hospitality

Unlike more conventional cruise experiences, the crew of Coral Discoverer are encouraged to interact with guests. This young and passionate group of 24 people will uniquely chaperone your every experience, providing assistance, interpretation and genuine company. They will bait your hook and carry your scuba tank but they will also join you for dinner and entertain in the ship’s lounge. They will also maintain your cabins with a renowned degree of attention and safely navigate the ship, boat and helicopter to each destination.
