Departing from Hervey Bay, set out with experienced guides to discover the UNESCO-heritage natural beauty of Fraser Island, the world’s largest sand island. Over four days, you will experience the unimaginable beauty of diverse landscapes from coastal bushland, to the heart of the rainforest, to pristine, white sand freshwater lakes. Visit historical sites including a 1930s shipwreck and a World War Two special forces training camp. Wander through the Valley of the Giants, home to the island’s tallest trees. Swim in the picturesque Champagne Pools at 75 Mile Beach. Climb colossal ‘sandblows’ or sand dunes. Explore Pile Valley, recently recognised as one of the Queen’s Commonwealth Canopies. Cap it all off with a swim in Lake McKenzie, with its virgin white sand and turquoise swirls that must be seen to be believed. Along the way, keep your eyes peeled for an abundance of birds, echidnas, goannas and, of course, the island’s famous dingoes!

You’ll stay 3-nights at Waiuta Retreat, a deluxe private retreat, nestled in the natural landscape of Kingfisher Bay overlooking the Great Sandy Strait, capturing gentle sea breezes and spectacular sunsets stretching from River Heads along the main coast. Features include two and a half bathrooms, two living rooms, pool table, 18 metre deck and BBQ patio to enjoy the perfect evening drink.

All meals are included throughout the walk. You’ll receive daily breakfast, lunch and dinner: healthy, delicious meals made from the best quality local produce where possible. Expect enhanced continental style buffet breakfasts, freshly prepared lunches served on the trail, and sumptuous dinners such as freshly caught fish, prawns and scallops, free range duck or chicken or a vegetarian option.
