Walk the Hollyford Track, an unforgettable Fiordland tramp from the mountains to the sea. The Hollyford Track 4 day / 3 night hiking tour is an ideal way to experience the very essence of New Zealand's wilderness and its rich history. You will transect the Hollyford Valley by foot, jet boat and finally take a scenic flight into Milford Sound.
Beginning amongst the sheer rock walls of the Darran Mountains in Fiordland National Park, the Hollyford Track follows the Hollyford River/Whakatipu Kā Tuka on its journey to the sea at Martins Bay, on the wild West Coast. Marvel at Fiordland's two highest peaks, Mount Tutoko (2746 metres) and Mount Madeline (2537 metres). Retracing the footsteps of original Māori and early pioneer explorers, you'll journey through native beech forest and hear the roaring cascade of Hidden Falls.
Along the way your experienced local guide will bring to life the diversity of the landscape, vegetation, wildlife and captivating stories of the original Māori and early pioneering families. You'll pass ancient forests with thousand year old giants such as native Rimu, Totara, and Kahikatea, and discover many small birds like the tomtit, robin and bellbird.
At the end of each day, you'll return to your cosy lodge and enjoy 3 courses of fine cuisine prepared by your friendly and professional lodge hosts.
