Druk Path Trek

The Druk Path is one of the famous hiking routes in Bhutan and takes approximately six days to complete. While that time frame may be short relative to other hikes, it offers some of the most enticing visual indulgences of nature from Paro, across the mountains to Thimphu. The path traverses alpine forests, lakes, pine jungles, and dwarf rhododendrons. While returning, Bhutan's highest peak, Mount Gangkar Puensum, at 7,570 metres (24 836 feet), will be visible. Be prepared to meet friendly locals and sacred religious sites such as Tiger's Nest Monastery in Paro.

Laya Valley Trek

For 10 days, the Laya path begins from Sharna Zampa in Paro to Koina, Gasa, reaching a maximum height of 4,100 metres (13,450 feet). The route will bypass alpine lakes, scenic mountains, quaint villages steeped in cultures, and welcoming locals. Chances of spotting wildlife are also high, especially the blue sheep. The hike is one of the toughest and demands that you're physically fit to take the first step.

Taktshang Goemba Trek

The Taktsang Geonba hike is more of a spiritual hike that leads you to the famed Tiger's Nest Monastery in Paro and takes about six hours to complete. If you prefer moderate-day hikes, this is for you. The ascent begins at the foot of the mountain on a spacious trail winding up to the monastery tucked in between craggy cliffs. Bumdra Monastery Trek

Embark on this spiritual and magical landscape discovery trek that leads to the Bumdra Monastery. It's a moderate hike that takes two days to complete, with lavish and scenic views of glacial lakes, alpine meadows, and the finest sunsets over mountains. The hike can extend to four days by veering off the main trail to visit another prominent monastery in Bhutan - the Taktshang monastery, also known as Tiger's Nest.

Gangtey Nature Trek

This is one of the easiest treks both in time and the nature of the terrain. The trail begins at the 17th-century Gangtey monastery and winds downhill to the open valley of Phobjikha for about 2 to 3 hours. Enjoy views of the picturesque scenery of Bhutan, ranging from grass planes and lush pine forests to rural farmhouses. If hiking in winter, which might not be as easy as a summer hike, you will spot the rare black-necked cranes that breed on the valley's grounds.

Jomolhari Basecamp Trek

Its path winds through the core of Bhutan's rich culture, history, and warmest welcome along 75 kilometres (45 mikes). The trek starts and ends in Paro on a circular trail and takes about seven days to complete.
