MV Tarquin is owned and operated by Marlborough Tour Company, based in Blenheim. Departing from the Picton Marina (or other Marlborough Sounds locations upon request), the luxury cruising vessel is available for half-day or day cruises or overnight cruises of the Marlborough Sounds.
The closet cities to Picton are Wellington and Christchurch. From Wellington, you can catch the Interislander ferry across Cook Strait (3 hour journey) to Picton. Meanwhile, from Christchurch, you can drive to Picton (about 4.5 hours) or take the coastal train (about 5.5 hours). International visitors will likely find it is easier to fly into Christchurch Airport.
Those looking to spoil themselves with an overnight cruise of Marlborough Sounds can stay aboard the MV Tarquin in one of three ensuited cabins (the maximum passengers for overnight cruising is six). Modern and beautifully appointed, the cabins boast luxury linens and special décor pieces derived from the iconic Thomas’s department store in Blenheim as well as nautical touches from Waiheke Island. Best described as an orderly mix of land and sea, the colour palette reflects the vessel’s beautiful Marlborough Sounds setting.
MV Tarquin is generously appointed and fully equipped with all the luxuries of home. You can relax and unwind in both inside and outside lounge and dining area and benefit from the amenities of the sundeck and galley kitchen. The rear deck acts as a covered outdoor lounge and provides dual stair access directly to the water for swimming and water escapades. You’ll also have access to a dedicated crew, chef and private guides to ensure your every need is met.
Incredible views deserve incredible cuisine and the onboard chef does not disappoint. On overnight cruises, enjoy all-inclusive dining including a 4-course lodge-style dinner showcasing the freshest, local seafood paired with the very best Marlborough wines. Foodies may take the opportunity to join the onboard chef in the galley to learn a few secrets – your very own private cooking masterclass!
