You will travel across plains where glaciers once sat and slowly moved, scouring out shallow tarns, visit Pellion Plains where you'll discover excellent swimming holes and abandoned copper mines.
Your tour culminates with Lake St Clair, Australia's deepest natural lake. The walk around Lake St Clair is mainly through cool temperate eucalypt forest, surrounding by incredible bird life and finishes with a spectacular 17km cruise back to Cynthia Bay.

The W Trek is the most famous route in the Torres del Paine National Park. Navigating up and down the mountain valleys, the W Trek brings you up close to its world-famous Patagonian views and natural, must-see attractions: Glacier Grey, Los Cuernos, Valle del Francés and Las Torres.
Hike five days on the W Trek with experienced and certified mountain guides and camp along the trail. Walk the W Trek from west to east, starting at Campsite Grey and ending at Refugio Las Torres. The trail runs up three valleys, creating the W shape that gives it its name. In each of those valleys lies one of the iconic sights of the park:
Lago Grey (Grey Lake), flecked with cobalt blue ice, flows up to the face of the enormous glacier that stretches out towards the ice cap, displaying the impressive geological changes that have happened in this area. Adjacent to the Lago Grey, is the Grey Glacier. The sheer size, power, and beauty of the Grey Glacier makes it one of the most iconic sights in the Torres del Paine National Park.
Valle Francés (French Valley), the central spur of the W is dominated by a magnificent hanging glacier, Glaciar Frances. This glacier cracks and crumbles ahead of you as you climb rocky terrain into the heart of the valley.
Ascencio Valley in the east takes you all the way to the base of the famous towers.This easy to moderate graded trek is fully guided and supported. You will trek with experienced and certified mountain guides and porters. Porters can carry up to 15 kilos of your pack weight and help out with setting up the tent. You only need to carry a day pack. All camping and cooking equipment as well as meals are provided.This is truly world class and considered a trekking experience of a lifetime.

Shinetsu Trail is an 80km trek in the central alpine region of Japan that follows the ridge along the Sekida Mountain Range between Nagano and Niigata Prefectures.These passages were used for carrying salt and sea-products from Niigata, and Uchiyama paper and mustard seed oil from Nagano. Today, this area is blessed with a rich ecosystem. It's a pristine and unique woodland trail of beech, maple, birch, larch and cedar that's soft underfoot and gentle on your feet and forms a corridor of green along the path.
The Shinetsu Trail is easily accessed from Tokyo, being about 1hr 45min on the Shinkansen super express train to Iiyama Station. You can also access to Iiyama Station from Nagano. After having enjoyed trekking, you can go to Kyoto and Osaka via Kanazawa by bullet train and limited express.
The package includes a local mountain guide for Day 1, who will equips you with trail information and confidence for your self guided trekking for the rest of the journey.

Accommodation is included each night and has been carefully selected to provide comfort and value in the best locations possible. The accommodation is on a twin share or double room basis with private facilities, except for the first and second nights where we stay in a mountain hut. This remote back country hut has bunk beds in a dormitory arrangement and the bathroom facilities are basic and shared. If you wish to reserve a room to yourself a single supplement is available at extra cost.
All meals are included for the duration of the walk. Provided we are advised in advance of your departure we are able to cater for vegetarian diets and can assist with medically recommended diets (allergies and intolerances).
The tour starts from Christchurch and concludes in Queenstown. All transfers as well as guides are included. Small groups of twelve walkers are hosted by highly experienced and knowledgeable guides.
The walk is graded moderate and fully supported. The sense of isolation and wilderness is a strong feature of this trip. On the first day of the tour you will be staying in a private mountain hut. You will need to carry an overnight pack for that day and then back to the vehicle on the second day. The rest of the walks on the tour are day walks so a small pack with personal essentials is all you will need to carry. The support vehicle will then take the rest of the equipment.
