Enjoy a mindfulness and yoga retreat near the foot of the towering flanks of Jbel Toubkal, the highest mountain in North Africa. It is a place of outstanding natural beauty, peace and seclusion, where Martin Scorsese filmed the movie Kundun about the Dalai Lama’s life. Take in the sights, sounds and colors of Marrekech, through the stunning Atlas Mountains and into Berber Country.
Your seven nights will be spent at the Kasbah, the iconic Moroccan landmark. The Kasbah has panoramic views of the mountains, valleys and waterfalls. The otherworldly beauty of the landscape is utterly transporting.
There will be two yoga and mindfulness classes on each full day and a guided walk, with one yoga free day. The classes will be suitable for all levels and experience (beginners and advanced students are all welcome). Yoga mats, blocks, belts, blankets and cushions are provided.
A daily guided leisure walk is included each day during the retreat. The walks take you through the lush, irrigated terraces, apple orchards and walnut groves. You'll have the opportunity to have a glimpse into a way of life that has barely changed for centuries, and their traditional values and hospitality have been largely unaffected by the outside world.
You will stay in luxury accommodation at the Kasbah du Toubkal in the trailhead village of Imlil - a member of National Geographic Unique Lodges of the World. Unwind at a private hammam bath house after a rewarding day walk or yoga class and savour a delicious tagine meal while enjoying views to the snow-capped Mount Toubkal.
This adventure-of-a-lifetime will open up your mind and body.
