Paddle the Seto Inland Sea, stroll through the Hagi’s old Castle Town - a UNESCO World Heritage Site, venture into the Akiyoshido Cave - the largest and longest limestone cave in Japan, and visit Motonosumi Inari Shrine as seen on CNN news "Japan's 31 Most Beautiful Places". This is an ideal relaxing walking holiday for history buffs and nature lovers alike.
Your trip starts from Hiroshima, which is easily accessed by train or flight from all major cities in Japan. You will enjoy a guided walk to the summit of Misen Mountain on Miyajima Island, one of the most scenic spots in Japan, which has long been regarded as an Island of the Gods on the beautiful Seto Inland Sea. Your luxurious modern room on the island features the views of the five-story pagoda and Senjokaku of Itsukushima Shrine. At sunset, enjoy fantastic views of stone lanterns lighting up the ocean.
Day 2, you'll enjoy a full day guided kayaking experience by paddling the calming Seto Inland Sea and getting close to the big Torii, the gate of Itsukushima Shrine.
Then you'll ride in a private car to Honshu Island's western tip - Hagi town, a sheltered deltaic embayment on the Sea of Japan coastline in Yamaguchi Prefecture. Enjoy walking in the old castle town, hiking in Akiyoshidai Quasi-National Park and visiting a Hagiyaki workshop to make your own pottery.

Venture into Kamikochi and explore the beautiful highland on foot along Azusa River surrounded by stunning peaks and seasonal foliage. You'll also have opportunity to visit Shirakawago, a UNESCO World Heritage Site famous for its gassho-zukuri farmhouses.

Luggage Forwarding
Baggage handling is not included in the tour cost, but Japan has a fabulous luggage forwarding service which you can use to send your luggage to your next destination. It will take between 24 and 72 hours to get the luggage to the next point so we recommend preparing an overnight bag when using this service. Luggage can be sent between any two points in Japan and the bell desks or receptions at your hotel will be happy to assist you with arranging this luggage transfer.
