The Hollyford Track 4 day / 3 night hiking tour is an ideal way to experience the very essence of New Zealand's wilderness and its rich history. You will transect the Hollyford Valley by foot, jet boat and finally take a scenic flight into Milford Sound.
Beginning amongst the sheer rock walls of the Darran Mountains in Fiordland National Park, the Hollyford Track follows the Hollyford River/Whakatipu Kā Tuka on its journey to the sea at Martins Bay, on the wild West Coast. Marvel at Fiordland's two highest peaks, Mount Tutoko (2746 metres) and Mount Madeline (2537 metres). Retracing the footsteps of original Māori and early pioneer explorers, you'll journey through native beech forest and hear the roaring cascade of Hidden Falls.
Along the way your experienced local guide will bring to life the diversity of the landscape, vegetation, wildlife and captivating stories of the original Māori and early pioneering families. You'll pass ancient forests with thousand year old giants such as native Rimu, Totara, and Kahikatea, and discover many small birds like the tomtit, robin and bellbird.
At the end of each day, you'll return to your cosy lodge and enjoy 3 courses of fine cuisine prepared by your friendly and professional lodge hosts.
The trip concludes with a helicopter flight into Milford Sound.

Immerse yourself in the atmosphere and get a sense of the serenity that the fiord offers. You'll have many opportunities for wildlife spotting such as penguins, seals and dolphins as well as learning about the history and natural environment of the fiord. After disembarking the next morning, your private guide will meet you at the cruise terminal and company you hiking the Milford Track, described as "the Finest Walk in the World" - a must when visiting the region. Walk through ancient temperate rainforest surrounded by an array of ferns, mosses and lichens in vibrant shades of green leads to Giant Gate Waterfall. Then private transfer back to Queenstown.

Kepler Track Heli Hike Day Tour, Fully Guided
closeA guided day walk from Te Anau beginning with a scenic helicopter flight over the Hidden Lakes, beech forest and alpine area to Luxmore Hut on the Kepler Track.
From this Department of Conservation Hut explore the alpine tussock fields and enjoy panoramic views of the surrounding Fiordland mountains with the possibility of ascending to the summit of Mt Luxmore if you wish and weather and time allows.
After time in the alpine area, hike down the mountain on the well-formed Kepler Track. The track descends through mountain and silver beech forest, and passes under towering limestone bluffs to the sandy beach of Brod Bay, the pick up point for the rewarding water taxi trip back to Te Anau.
From Luxmore Hut it is a down hill walk (8km) requiring a medium level of fitness. If you wish to explore further past the Hut toward the Summit there would be an additional 1-3 hours walking up and down. There is a maximum of 12 walkers with a guide providing an opportunity to learn about the natural and human heritage of Fiordland. There are plenty of stops for photographs, bird-watching and interpretation along the way.
Return Te Anau at around 5:00pm. We can arrange transfer to/from Queenstown at additional charges.

Kick off your trip in the 'adventure capital' Queenstown where you hike the lower slopes of Ben Lomond for extensive panoramic views over Lake Wakitipu. Crossing over to Stewart Island you will enjoy some short walks as well as a free day to explore this remote island on foot, kayak or even try to sight New Zealand's iconic flightless bird ‐ the Kiwi.
Stewart Island is one of the few places in the country with the greatest chance of seeing this very shy creature. Returning to the mainland, journey into Fiordland National Park for the Kepler track and Milford Sound walks. Then you'll take a breathtaking helicopter flight over dramatic peaks into uninhabited Martins Bay in the heart of the Hollyford region. Explore this amazing landscape on foot with a walk through lush forest and coastal heath to a rocky bay, which is frequented by penguins and seals in season. Jet boat to the Hollyford River and walk along the Hollyford Valley, following the footsteps of early explorers through native beech forest speckled with elegantly flowing waterfalls. Hike the Routeburn Track up to Key Summit for sweeping views over the beautiful Hollyford Valley before heading back to Queenstown.
Accommodation is included each night and has been carefully selected to provide comfort and value in the best locations possible. On this trip, you'll stay at an Homestead Villa Motel, South Sea Hotel, Distinction Luxmore Hotel, and Martin's Bay Lodge.
All meals are included for the duration of the walk. Provided we are advised in advance of your departure we are able to cater for vegetarian diets and can assist with medically recommended diets (allergies and intolerances).
