Walking distance: 6.5kms. Grade: 2 - 3 easy to moderate
Today begin your adventure in Litchfield National Park where you visit Wangi Falls and Walker Creek. Wangi Falls is one of Litchfield's most popular and easily accessible attractions. On this short walk you climb to the top of the escarpment for a great view, and then wander back down to the base of the falls to have a swim.
At Walker Creek you walk about 5 km and hike alongside the crystal clear water course. You can pause for a refreshing dip in one of the many pristine waterholes and enjoy the tranquillity of this amazing national park. Keep eyes peeled for local wildlife including wallabies, possums and an array of birdlife.
You'll stay on the doorstep of the Litchfield National Park on Lake Bennett in private lake view rooms. Each room has a balcony, an ensuit and bar fridge.. Once we have checked in you will have time to settle in, have a swim or enjoy a drink and the sunset on the deck by Lake Bennet. Your guides will prepare a lovely nibbles platter for you and you will enjoy a beautifully prepared group dinner.

Enjoy a delicious breakfast and lunch making before continuing your adventure back in Litchfield National Park.
Visit Tolmer Falls, Green ant Creek, Florence Falls, Buley Rockholes and the magnetic termite mounds. You walk to the lookout at Tolmer Falls where you stand on the viewing platform to see the water cascading over escarpments into a deep plunge pool.
Journey the Green ant Creek walk traversing a serene rainforest before reaching another inviting plunge pool, a perfect time to take a refreshing dip. A paradise for birdlife, keep a lookout for colourful red-winged parrots, double-bar finches or kingfisher.
The Florence Creek Walk links Florence Falls and Buley Rockhole offering another chance for a beautiful swimming opportunity. As you walk through cool monsoon rainforest, look out for birdlife, including kingfishers, honey-eaters, fairy-wrens and pigeons. Other wildlife to spot includes brown bandicoots and northern quolls.
One of Litchfield National Park's most impressive sights is the hundreds of termite mounds standing up to two metres high in a wide swathe of empty ground. Stroll through the area and marvel at what are enormous magnetic compasses, with their thin edges pointing north-south and broad backs east-west.
After returning to accommodation, enjoy nibbles with the group before having dinner at the accommodation restaurant.
We say goodbye to Litchfield and make our way to KakaduNational Park. Our drive is approximately four hours via Pine Creek where we stop for some lunch and a break.
Your first stop into Kakadu National Park is the Warradjan Aboriginal Cultural Centre. Immerse in indigenous culture as you admire artefacts and authentic art telling stories of the traditional owners of Kakadu. Find connection to their traditions as you listen to stories of their history and bush tucker.
We then take a short walk by the Mardukal Billabong, lined with andjimjim (water pandanus) and towering silver leaved paperbarks.
This afternoon we hop on board the Indigenousowned Yellow Water Cruise, where you will wind through the world-famous Yellow Water Billabong. Here you will experience a distinct ecosystem and witness the rich wildlife; whistling ducks, magpie geese, jabirus & salt water crocodiles. A highlight of this fantastic tour.
After the beautiful sunset cruise, travel further north to Jabiru. You'll check in one- and two-bedroom cabins in the heart of Jabiru. Each with air conditioning, an ensuite and kitchenette. After a day’s touring return to the relaxation of the magnificent lagoon style pool, which is surrounded by the Poolside Bar & Bistro. You'll enjoy dinner at the accommodation restaurant before checking into the self contained cabins for the evening.

Today you embark on an unforgettable cultural day tour into Arnhem Land. You head into Arnhem Land via Cahills crossing, be sure to keep a sharp eye out for saltwater crocodiles which frequently inhabit this area. This road takes you to the Injalak Arts Centre where you join up with your indigenous guide. Heading further into Arnhem Land you stop at Injalak Hill. Here you begin your walking journey up the Hill, expertly lead by your local guide. The guide will impart some fascinating historical information about the area, and the rock art.
Your lunch stop is atop the rocky escarpment, where the view out over the floodplains is simply breathtaking. Then it's back to the Arts Centre for an opportunity to browse or purchase art items from this non-profit Aboriginal organisation, and watch local Aboriginal people painting and weaving pandanus baskets. With its stunning scenery of billabongs, birds, escarpments Arnhem Land is truly a place where you can experience this unique untouched have of the Northern Territory.
On your return back into Kakadu you again pass over Cahills. If you didn’t spot a crocodile this morning you're more than likely to see one this afternoon.
Ubirr is your next destination for this afternoon. Here embark on an easy 1km circular walk followed by a moderately steep climb to a rocky outlook, where you have the opportunity to view Kakadu rock art. There are three main sites of rock art to experience at Ubirr. You will see representations of the many animals the Aboriginal people hunted. Important Dreamtime ancestors such as the Namarrgarn Sisters and a magnificent Rainbow Serpent are also represented in their respective galleries. Savour a beautiful and iconic sunset before a delicious dinner at Jabiru.

You have an early start today after breakfast and making lunches. Today you visit the amazing Nourlangie Rock Art site and embark on the 12km Barrk Sandstone Walk.
At Nourlangie you can see how local Aboriginal people lived in this area through changing times. Environmental and social changes are reflected in the rock art and in the ground, where archaeologists have uncovered over 50,000 years of Aboriginal occupation. The walk here takes you through what was a wet season home for generations of Aboriginal people. The rock art here is simply astounding and you will see the world-famous Namarrgon, lightning man, (among many others) at Anbangbang gallery.
The beautiful walk around Anbangbang Billabong is not to be missed and you get a spectacular view of Nourlangie from this trail. A myriad of birdlife can also be spotted here from Jabiru to Brolga, magpie geese to spoonbills.
The Barrk Sandstone Walk takes you from Anbangbang Gallery to the top of Burrunggui (Nourlangie), across the top then down a gully to the woodland at the base. The ground is rough in places and there are some steep slopes. There is a midway exit point and depending on the heat, you may choose to exit the walk early.
After spending the day around Nourlangie we head back to our accommodation for pre-dinner nibbles followed by a two-course dinner prepared by your guides.
Savour a final breakfast before journeying on the road towards Darwin.
There is time to visit the Marrawuddi Arts and Culture Centre in Jabiru if you haven't already before we make our way to the Mamukala wetlands. A short walk here gives opportunity to spot a variety of birds and Saltwater Crocodiles.
From here we make our way to Corroborree Billabong for some more bird watching and to marvel at the stunning pink backdrop of the pretty banks of the billabong, flanked by rows of colorful lotus flowers and water lilies. Our last stop is at Berry Springs, a picturesque spot with clear shady pools, here you can enjoy your final and well earned swim before saying goodbye back in Darwin.
Cap off your incredible journey back on the road, arriving in Darwin about 5pm.

The Top End is dominated by a tropical monsoonal weather pattern that results in a number of distinct seasons.April to July –the early part of the 'Dry'Nights can be cool and early morning fogs common. The days are warm, dry and generally cloudless with some spectacular sunsets. From April the water begins to slowly recede from the floodplains.August to September – late part of the 'Dry'Days and nights start to warm up. The retreating waters concentrate in billabongs together with the birdlife which congregates in extraordinary numbers. Many tropical woodland plants flower at this time of year.October to December – build up to the 'Wet'This is a time of increasing humidity and heat, with the build up of massive cumulus clouds and exciting thunder and lightning shows. Early rains start to turn the country green.January to March – the main part of the 'Wet'The arrival of the full monsoon brings heavy rains and high tides. The rivers break their banks and spread out across the floodplains, water lilies flower and life returns to the country in all its majesty. We stay in the heart of Kakadu, in Katherine and close to the entry of Litchfield National Park.
In Kakadu we stay in lodge style rooms at Kakadu Lodge. Each lodge room contains a Queen bed, Air conditioning, television and refrigerator. Communal bathroom and kitchen facilities are close by. After a days touring return to the relaxation of the magnificent lagoon style pool, which is surrounded by lush tropical gardens & is complemented by the Poolside Bar & Bistro.
At Litchfield we are located near the entry of Litchfield National Park staying in lodge style rooms. Relax at the end of a long day with a swim in the nearby swimming pool.

In the case of natural threats, acts of God and the like (e.g. bushfires, impassable snow, etc) the tour operator may need to cancel a walk with very little notice. In some cases, this can occur after the walk has commenced. The tour operator reserves the right to cancel any walk up to 60 days prior to departure if a minimum of 4 walkers are unable to meet for a tour. If the tour operator needs to cancel for any reason, the cost of the walk or any other costs associated with travel to the designated pick up point, overnight accommodation, meals, etc will not be covered by the Onlyluxe Travel and therefore we strongly recommend travel insurance be taken out prior to travel.Force Majeure'Force Majeure' means (without restriction) any event which Onlyluxe Travel or its third party providers could not, even with due care, foresee or avoid. We therefore strongly advise our customers to take specific ambulance cover through their health insurance provider.
